Healthy Start Program
Healthy Start Program is designed to serve Southeast Asian women and infants under the age of twelve months and who reside in west and southwest Philadelphia. Healthy Start Program reduces infant mortality and increases normal healthy births by increasing the number of pregnant women, postpartum women and infants enrolled into prenatal, postpartum and pediatric care. SEAMAAC offers appropriate referrals to ongoing primary caregivers and other related services. Our dedicated staff establishes close ties with mothers, children and families. They ensure smooth communication between medical personnel and clients.
Maternity and Infant Services Program
The Maternity and Infant Services Program is designed to serve Southeast Asian pregnant women and their babies. Services are provided to women residing in South Philadelphia, primarily in zip codes 19145, 19146, 19147 and 19148. Home visitors perform outreach services such as accompaniment, translation and advocacy services among the Cambodian, Vietnamese, Laotian, and ethnic Chinese communities. Clients receive prenatal care at Health Care Center #2 and are scheduled to deliver their babies at Methodist Hospital. SEAMAACs Maternity Program continues to build a strong and educated community by motivating clients to obtain information about health care for their families.

HIV/AIDS Education Program
The program provides aggressive multilingual education and outreaches to Southeast Asian refugee communities concerning this most serious and deadly health epidemic. Our HIV/AIDS staff enforces strict confidentiality while avoiding various cultural taboos in educating community individuals through prevention activities such as home visits, community health fairs, workshops, school presentations and translated materials in the appropriate language.
