Hey all you Coasties out there, what yah think aye!
Hi my name is Roy Ratahi, I'm not that learned, cos I'm a hands on person, so if the grammar sucks it sucks! Age ? Hometown is a little place on the East Coast of New Zealand NI. Called Ruatoria (Once called Ruatorea) if my memory serves me right it meant Torea was an owner of two kumara rua pits: For the pakeha it means (A hole dug into a hill, with a door or a place where they stored kumaras, as things modernized we kept root veges in them). Now the modern maori of nowadays are trying to bring it back! Why I don't know, as I was growning up it was always called Ruatoria! and that's the way I'll keep pronouncing it. I'm a firm believer in learning the English Language first and foremost if I was meant to speak maori it should have come to me naturally, but hey it didn't
I'm of Maori decendant, mixed with abit of Irish, English & Scotish (Man what a mix!...lol)
I'm married with kids, who have grown & flown, we have 6 grand-children, the eldests being 9years of age, going on 21...lol!
We are currently living in Gisborne (NZ) about a 1 1/2hrs drive from home or if you drive like the Clampitts maybe less.
Hmmmm...what else can I say about myself...! the name Ruagold as you can see Rua is short for my home town - gold was apart of what I was gonna make on the internet, in terms of becoming rich & famous...Yeah right!
My hobbies: Well this was/is one of them building webpages, maybe the odd gardening,
Cooking (for 100 or more people.)...We have a team of Marae Workers from home called the Pa Ratz, which I can proudly say I'm usually apart of! they'll do all the cooking at functions: Weddings, Birthdays, funerals, you name it, they'll be there to do it! We prepare, we cook, we clean, we'll even setup tables...Breakfasts continental or steak & eggs (fried, boiled or even scrambled) it's no wonder our people are obese...Lunch can be from a boil-up to a stew or BBQs with a salad (but hey! can you see a maori eating a salad, maybe the self-consious ones!) Yeah Nah! Tea that also can be boil-up or stews or BBQs. Now we have some self-consious cooks, so we try & prepare healthy foods! 4 da whanau!!!
Other hobbies include fixing computers, & maybe one day I will build one from scratch, problem being not enough cash to buy the parts! I have pull them to bits and rebuilt them...I've also done a networking course so I know how to make computers talk to one another...

I can remember when I first built this webpage, it was created around 1999, Didn't know what I was doing then & maybe I still don't know what I'm doing now, I use to sorta come here & practice html codes, add graphics, if I saw something on the net that looked interesting, I'd come back here & try it out. Like for instance the 2 videos I've just downloaded...Cool Aye Maori! :)-
