They Who Changed The World

Centuries ago, when the world was young, the most powerful mortals gathered together and forged 
with their combined powers a ball of pure energy.

Upon touching this ball, the once mortals, were now elevated to Demigods. They ravished their 
home continent of Caanaras, and eventually challenged the Gods themselves.

The battle raged, but eventually the Gods won. They took the ball and banished it to the 
Dimension of "Things they'd rather not let mortals get their greedy little hands on", along with such 
items as the Amulet of "Hey Look, I'm a God!", and the Gloves of "You're dead, now you're 
dead, now you're dead...".

They placed a beholder where the ball once was, for any greedy treasure hunters to happen upon. 
Eventually treasure hunters gave up on this impossible treasure. And truth faded to legend.
