There was a problem verifying a few words, as the copy quality
of the Officer's Report was poor. I will try to obtain
a better copy that can be scanned and posted.
On 12/04/2003 at approximately 2258hrs, Officer Debraum and, I
Officer Richard Bango, were dispatched to 695 Bridgeport Avenue,
Ameri Suites Hotel, for an unwanted party complaint.
The acting hotel manager, Lora Tomkins, informed us that
there were several men in a hotel room that were very loud and unruly.
Tomkins stated the men were asked several times to leave,
but they refused .
Tomkins stated that she responded to the room on three seperate occasions
to ask the men to leave, but the men refused to answer the door.
Tomkins stated she also called several times but got no answer.
Tomkins informed us that she wanted the men to leave the hotel.
We were taken to room 608, where I announced that we were the police
and asked several times for them to open the door. The men were informed
that if they did not open the door, we would use force to open the door
and they would be placed under arrest.
A male voice inside the room stated,"Don't you have better things to do?
There are people smoking crack and robbing banks. Why don't you go after them?"
Officer Debraum and I demanded several times to open the door , but the men refused.
Tomkins attempted to open the door with several hotel keys, but was unsuccessful.
After Tomkins called the
Ameri Suite Hotel General Manager, she informed us to knock down
the door, if the men do not respond.
At approximately 00:00 hrs, Sargeant Tortora, Officer Murad, Officer McClain,
Officer Norris and Officer Silva responded to the scene. Sageant Tortora called
Room 608 but no one answered. A Halligan Tool was used to forcefully
open the door. Once inside three males were taken into custody without incident.
See Officer Debraum's Report for further details.
