If you like Alternative music, be it punk, pop, hiphop, metal or whatever, this will be the place for you! It is a german site, but you can change the language by clicking on the drop down list saying "Deutsch" in the upper left. You have to sign up, but it is safe and free and you got a HUGE variety of music, but it is no chart music (so it's good ;) To download, you click on your desired song or "Get it!" and a pop-up window appears. Click on "Download" and you come to a new site. It gives you two different ways on how to download (you must try which one works in your shop/...). Click for example on "Download with FTP" via rightclick and go to "properties..." There, you copy the URL and paste it. I (schlontz) think that Filter is one of the best bands in the world so I just had to put up this link! On their official homepage, you are able to download three of their songs! For all Weezer fans this is the site! You can download three of their songs here, including "Hash Pipe", unfortunately, those songs are all live versions. :( A cool private site made by another Neopets user. The only disadvantage of real music files is that they are very large and need some time to download. Eyspecially people with slower connections will have to wait quite a long time until they hear your shop music for example. But I think it is a good idea, because most of the midi files use awful sounds. First you need to put in a music code. In your shop, pet lookup etc., you add this tag: <BGSOUND SRC="MUSIC URL HERE" loop="-1"> Then you need to get your desired music file. It's almost the same as with midi files, except their filenames end with .mp3 or .wav or sth like that. But you also need it as as direct download, which means that you save it via right mouseclick mostly. You do it like this most of the time. Click with the right mouse button on the desired link, click "properties..." and you copy the URL (that's why it has to be direct,if not, in properties it won't say "FILENAME.mp3" or "FILENAME.wav" but it will be a link called BLABLABLA.html or .htm, .phtml etc) Then you paste the copied URL into your music tag and TA-DAA - finished! Ok, for all those who consider searching for music to be way too hard, we have put some music codes put up just for you. You can click on it to hear the song and add the code to your shop or neopet description if you like it.
