         "Justice Be Done" (Flaubert 320)

The Legion of       Honor, one of France's most prestigious awards--no excuse me, it is  France's      most illustrious honor that can be bestowed upon any individual.   This    accolade is only given to those Frenchmen who "have a minimum of    20 years    of public service or professional activity and have attained    outstanding    achievement in either case" (Legion 1).  I obviously    have gone above    and beyond these meager requirements.  In addition    to my work as a world-renowned    pharmacist, as I approve the general health    of Yonville and its periphery,    I "displayed an unlimited devotion at the    time of the cholera epidemic" (Flaubert    320).  Thus, I have had   "OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT" in the health    care profession.  Furthermore,    I have brought to this fair town much    progress in medicine, including,    but not limited to, the cutting edge technology    of clubfoot operations.   But, aside from my professional merits, I have    brought much honor to France,    regarding the progress of agriculture and literature.   As a member    several "'scientific societies'" (Flaubert 320), including the    Agricultural    Society of Rouen--agricultural section, pomology subsection.   I have    written such fascinating, totally engrossing books essays concerning    Progress,    as Cider, Its Manufacture and its Effects, the General Statistical    Survey    of the Canton of Yonville, and Climatological Observations, not to    mention    my pharmacist's thesis.  These works have brought honor both    to my    town, my country, and me.  All of this professional work does    not    even include my humanitarian efforts, like my service as a volunteer    firefighter    and champion of the people, fighting for their rights (like the    absence    of vagabonds bothering hardworking men and women).

Well, with accomplishments like these, it is no wonder that I have been      awarded  the French Legion of Honor, an accolade I truly deserve.  My    hard work,  dedication to my profession and Progress, and humanitarian  efforts    demonstrate  that I, like other Legionnaires, am an asset to France  and mankind,    in general  .
