Cotton-Eye Joe

Cotton-Eye Joe

Cotton-Eye Joe: Original song by Rednex. Arranged by Chris Carper. This wild electric barnyard song features the very talented piccolist Carper on his other instrument, the violin. That's just as well, as this is his theme song, which he chose because "he loves this song." This is also the first song to utilize Spalding's really cool synthesizer machine thing. In the song, the horse and cow sounds are created by Thomas, who lined up behind the animals and gave them swift kicks in the ass at the correct time in the song.

Cotton-Eye Joe

If it hadn't been for cotton-eye Joe
I'd been married a long time ago
Where did you come from where did you go
Where did you come from cotton-eye Joe
He came to town like a mid-winter storm
He rode through the fields
So handsome and strong
His eyes was his tools
And his smile was his gun
But all he had come for was
Having some fun
He brought disaster wherever he went
The hearts of the girls was to
Hell broken sent
They all ran away so nobody would know
And left only men cause of cotton-eye Joe
