The Food Critic

The Food Critic: Written by Homer Simpson and arranged by Jon Lichenstein, produced by FOX and SDCC. The B-Side to "It Was A Very Good Beer", "The Food Critic" actually became a bigger hit than "It Was A Very Good Beer", causing the record to be "flipped" in France. This song was a slight breakthrough for the struggling band, becoming their trademark song (before "Pornography Aisle") and was featured in several show-stopping performances, including Eastern Mennonite University (9/7/02), their home at Stuarts Draft (9/18), and the fateful concert at Rockbridge. (10/2) In order to promote the song back in the States, the band held an all-female nude bicycle race from New York to San Fransisco. No one knows why.

The Food Critic

Oh I like food alright...

I like pizza,
I like bagels,
I like hot dogs with mustard and beer,
(I get the picture!)
I'll eat eggplant,
I could even eat a baby deer,
Lalalalalalalalalala,
Who's that baby deer on the lawn there?
(Enough already!)
Sorry.

This song first appeared in The Simpsons episode "Guess Who's Coming To Criticize Dinner?", performed by Homer Simpson, with back-up vocals by The Newspaper Editor.
