I've Got A Lovely Bunch Of Coconuts
I've Got A Lovely Bunch Of Coconuts: Written by Monty Python, arranged by Nick Texeira and Jarrod Thomas, produced by Python (Monty) Records. A song for that great Hawaiian fruit, the coconut. Also dedicated to the famous "coconut banging" scenes from Monty Python And The Holy Grail and also featured at SDCC's 9/11 concert with T.A. Knights, and later during live performances of "Knights Of The Round Table." (Though the video for "Coconuts" is devoted entirely to breasts.) The first several lines of the song were actually sung by former U.S. President Bill Clinton.
I've Got A Lovely Bunch Of Coconuts
Down at an English fair,
One evening I was there,
When I heard a showman shouting
Underneath the flair.
I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts.
There they are a-standing in a row.
Big ones,
Small ones,
Some as big as you're head!
Give 'em a twist,
A flick of the wrist,
That's what the showman said.
I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts.
Every ball you throw will make me rich.
There stands me wife,
The idol of me life,
Sing roll-a-bull-a-pin-a-penny-a-pitch.
I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts. (They're lovely!)
There they are a-standing in a row. (One, two, three, four!)
Big ones,
Small ones,
Some as big as you're head! (And bigger!)
Give 'em a twist,
A flick of the wrist,
That's what the showman said!
