Mt. Mercury Expedition Pictures

Here are the pictures taken by Sir Fartlek and Sir Vyborny during their trek up Mt. Mercury.

When the two mountaineers reached about 3000 feet, the sky showed signs of a storm. Picture by Fartlek.

Though all was clear to the other side. Picture by Fartlek.

Here Sir Vyborny poses on a cliff. (V for Vyborny!) Behind him is a drop of almost 1000 feet.

Vyborny meditates, only seconds before falling 500 feet, nearly to his demise.

Early in their expedition, the two explorers found the fabled Inverted Spring Of Eternal Youth, at around 5000 feet.

Vyborny bravely tests the waters of the magical spring.

Fartlek was amazed to discover that at 7000 feet, there was still some snow left. In the end he turned out to only be fooling himself, however, because the next day the area recieved about six inches of the white stuff.

As Sir Fartlek piloted the Intergalactic Mercedes, Vyborny found signs of a primitive heretic cult that believed in the existence of the number Nine.

A nice view of the Mercury Range.

Sir Fartlek made piss-water!!!!

Fartlek has just seen the Loch Ness Monster, the Dragon of Angnor, and the elusive Chicken of Bristol all in the the same place, but unfortunately Vyborny ran out of film just after taking this shot of his partner.

Fartlek and Vyborny at 9000 feet. Just before, Vyborny had drank some Height Elixir (and some beer) thereby making him temporarily taller than his friend.

Fartlek hangs on for dear life.

Fartlek: "Wow, I can see my house from here!" Vyborny: "Look, it's a bird! It's a plane! No wait, it's just a bird."

Oh no, Fartlek has fallen again!

Fartlek is reported to have said, "Will you put down that damn camera and help me out!" here.

Vyborny gazes at the majesty of the Deacon Forest.

Here we see the mysterious Hand of Jamboota. It is no probably no mere coincidence that Vyborny's hand fit the print perfectly.

The two brave explorers sit on a cliff overlooking Schotten Ridge.

Vyborny in the small natural lean-to which served as their camp on the first night.

Fartlek just above the camp, just as the storm starts to roll in.

Here are the Mythical Sun Rays of....Okay, they're just regular sun rays, but you gotta admit, they look pretty darn cool.
