Wait a minute...democratic elections in the Empire of Metopia?!?!? I thought this was a dictatorship!!! Well fear not royal paeons, because we're here to enlighten you.

The purpose of these elections is to give the general Metopian public the silly idea that they actually have some say in what goes on. Silly them. Anyway, the Metopian lands have been divided into 12 counties, 11 on the mainland and 1 for Kratopia. (This is despite the recent Kratopian Revolution.) These counties are divided into one, two, or three districts. In each of these districts, two, three, or four citizens are running for the position of thane. These representatives will make up the legislative branch of Metopian government, convening in the Hall of Thanes aka the cab-in-é. These thanes will of course have no power, because Sir Schottenfroida is the legislative, executive, and judicial branch of Metopia, but hey, at least the stupid jerks think they have power. Yeah, maybe now they'll shut up. The bastards.
