This Turbo Conversion was designed to produce high torque at low revs and increased power at higher revs making the usable rev range very wide and dynamic

The heart of the turbo kit is the water-cooled IHI RHB5 that gives minimum turbo lag, good throttle response and high boost at low revs.

The compression ratio is lowered from 10.3:1 to 7.5:1 using a laser cut sandwich plate. This allows us to run a peak boost pressure of 0.8bar and hold 0.6bar.

The exhaust manifold was specially designed to mount the IHI RHB5 Turbo using all the original gaskets and fittings. Th exhaust downpipe leaving the turbo mounts tot the original Catalytic Convertor. This allows any aftermarket Cat-back performance exhaust system to be fitted.

The Aluminium Intercooler has been specially designed for this coversion by van Aaken Developments to fit in with the overall mechanical layout designed and tested by our German partner Suhe Motorsport. The intercooler is mounted high up in the path of clean, cool air to maximise its benefits

All modifications to the EEC5 engine management system have been made by van Aaken Developments. The Electronic Management System has been re-programmed to adjust the ignition timing and fuelng to suit the requirements of the modified system and still run on 95 Octane fuel. In addition the rev-limit is raised to 7200RPM to make use of al the available top end power.
