The Jeff-B film awards 2004

To qualify for a Jeff-B film award 2004, a film must:

1: Have been released in the UK during 2004

2: I have to have seen it during 2004

3: It has to be one of my favorite films of the year

I know there are a lot of films out there that might be better than the 3 I’ve picked, but in the end it comes down to what I think.

Jeff-B: At the movies

Shaun of the Dead 3) Shaun of the Dead

Director: Edgar Wright
Staring: Simon Pegg, Kate Ashfield, Nick Frost and Dylan Moran
Plot outline: Shaun isn't having the greatest of times. The staff at the TV store he works in don't take him very seriously as temporary boss; his girlfriend Liz has had enough of always meeting at the pub along with his yob mate; and his relationship with his dad - sorry, step-dad - remains heavily fraught. And now the un-dead have risen and are spreading their zombie curse to everyone they can get their teeth into. Just doesn't seem worth getting out of bed some days.
What I thought of it: It made my laugh, it made me cry, it made me feel ill.

Troy 2) Troy

Director: Wolfgang Petersen
Staring: Brian Cox, Brad Pitt, Eric Bana, Orlando Bloom, Peter O’Toole and Sean Bean
Plot outline: In the year 1193 B.C., Paris, a prince of Troy woos Helen, Queen of Sparta, away from her husband, Menelaus, setting the kingdoms of Mycenae Greece at war with Troy. The Greeks sail to Troy and lay siege. Achilles was the greatest hero among the Greeks, while Hector, the eldest son of Priam, King of Troy, embodied the hopes of the people of his city.
What I thought of it: The sword-and-sandals epic is back!

The Terminal 1) The Terminal

Director: Sir Steven Spielberg
Staring: Tom Hanks and Catherine Zeta-Jones
Plot outline: An Eastern European visitor becomes a resident of a New York airport terminal when a war breaks out and erases his country from the map, voiding his passport. He makes friends with the airport staff and falls in love with a flight attendant.
What I thought of it: laughed like hell. My mate laughed so hard he almost pissed himself!
