Princeton Christmas Party!

Here, we study the habits of the North American Grad Student. Normally a reclusive and largely nocturnal creature, grad students occasionally gather together in small herds and engage in bizarre rituals and celebrations. Below are images of one of these rare gatherings.

Two females engage in some sort of grooming ritual. The left one appears to suffer from a lack of self-esteem.

Here we see a rare occurence, a mixing of male and female grad students. Typically, Grad Students are only found in groups such as these while feeding.

The herd shows its aggressive side in this picture, using threatening gestures to indicate strength. The female in the red appears to be the alpha female. The male in maroon directly in front of her is clearly the runt of the herd.

There is evidence that the species has learned to use primitive tools.

Afraid of open spaces, the Grad Student often lurks in corners and doorways, avoiding exposure.

One of the females is angered and attacks the photographer.

A rare moment of peace among the herd makes for a beautiful shot.

A female notices the photographer and spooks. Luckily for us, there's little room for escape in the small and confining living space of a typical grad student.

Here we find two females in the field.

Female grad students often compete amongst themselves to be the most sexually alluring to the male. It is clear from this photo who the winner is in this herd.

A pair of females show surprisingly similar markings. For the grad student, such a coincidence is humiliating.

One curious male eyes the cameraman suspiciously. Grad students typically don't like to drink around others.

It seems a prodigal member of the herd has returned bearing gifts in an attempt to reconcile himself with his fellow grad students. The aggressive posturing and barred teeth are an attempt to reassert his position within the herd.

This female seems to have stubbed her toe real bad.

Grad students often freeze when they spot another creature nearby. These two regard the photographer as a possible predator and are terrified.

The mating call of the grad student can be loud and unpleasant.

A rare moment of affection between two grad students. Typically, they do not like to touch, or be touched by, one another.

A new group attempts to seize some of our herd's territory.

Thus ends our venture into the world of the grad student. We must all remember that, though oft-misunderstood, the grad student is an intelligent and beautiful creature that we should admire, but only from afar.

Brokeback Sewer

I thought they only let smart people into Princeton. Take me home.
