IMPERIVM INFERNVM
Archived Revision Notices
Revised 11 May 2003: Five new submissions to AD FORO:
Verba Seria:
God Sees All Sin - A poem, of His great justice
Infernal Evangelism - Being a letter to a vapid fundamentalist, challenging her justifications for faith in god
Verba Irata:
As Seen by an Antipartisan - A quick survey of Political Affiliations, as I understand them, in the United States
Pardon my Freedom - On my personal experience of American Francophobia
Verba Comica:
Inflatable Jesus - Christ Inc. is getting desperate
Revised 6 April 2003: Reproduced from cache on Google.com, the account and commentary of three atheists touring Heaven and Hell, as envisioned, perverted, and exploited by Christianity Inc, Alabama Freethinkers Visit "Judgement House," By Adam Butler, now in AD FORO's Verba Seria.
Revised 12 March 2003: Reproduced from Anti-Atheist Websites, "Reflections on Good and Evil," being this atheist's response to a particularly pretentious piece of larval fundamentalist spam, and presented as a sterling example of the Anevangelic Argument applied, now in AD FORO's Verba Seria.
Revised 28 January 2003, notice posted 30 January 2003: Reproduced from submissions to The 600 Club, "On Individuality" and "On Gun Control," now in Ad Foro's Verba Seria and Verba Irata.
Revised 15 January 2003: It is difficult to know where to begin as the Empire celebrates its First Anniversary. So much has changed in the short space of time separating this present moment from Imperivm Infernvm's Inauguration. In the course of a year, my perspectives and philosophies of life have all shifted, in some cases dramatically, as my thoughts and ideas have matured and become more truly my own. Looking back on the first works I submitted here, it is obvious that I have come a long way from the stereotypical trappings and puerilities that distinguish the neophytes and the wannabes from those who have been truly able to utilise the Satanic philosophy, rather than pay infantile homage to it. I have found myself increasingly self-defined, ever less restricted by the necessary constraints attending any label, so much so that it is only a matter of custom that I may call myself a Satanist at all. It is ironic perhaps that the praxis of Satanic philosophy may very well be the ability to mutilate it with such impunity that it no longer obeys the boundaries that allow it to be defined.
I am now a married man, settled happily in a home and life that my wife and I are building together - a far cry from the unattached Bohemian who founded this site a year ago today in the computer lounge of the Student Union he was sleeping in four nights a week. Looking back on this last year, I realise that Imperivm Infernvm has not kept pace with the experiences and upheavals that have marked my progress to this present moment in my life. With its first year behind it, Imperivm Infernvm, which began as nothing more substantial than a motley gallery of thoughts and musings, is now my and my wife's shared project and expression, and for the first time, an instrument guided by the genuinely concrete purpose it has never had before now.
To mark the passage of Imperivm Infernvm's first year, we have begun a massive update, which we expect to span the rest of this month. Today, we completely overhauled "Portae," adding over forty links while scrapping those that the Empire has long outgrown. Submitted to "Ad Foro" are Parts I and II of a long planned, four part dissertation on war, as well as a dialogue I gleaned from The Satanic Collective, a now defunct list I used to frequent, here entitled "Sympathy for Islam," and being a discussion of why I have none. Finally, the lyrics to Roger Waters' "What God Wants" have been added to the "Songs" section of "About The Host."
Revised 19 November 2002: As I read over my past notices, it becomes apparent that I shouldn't bother promising anything as everything always seems to come up whenever I declare that this month is somehow going to be different from the last. October was supposed to be a "splendid" month for posts, which would be, in part, pulled from the Dialogue, my overly vague name for an argumentative clusterfuck between myself and a capable and equally verbose christian, which is currently sitting in my private archive, holding down 1.1 MB of real estate.
The Dialogue is my masterwork, spanning nearly 200 pages and representing no less than four major exchanges between myself and the christian champion, with addenda and notes besides. The argument dealt with in the Dialogue is, from the standpoint of what it intends to prove, profound - my object there has been to do no less than demonstrate that the christian god, as he is presented by scripture and, by extension, fundamentalist evangelism, is not the loving father and benevolent judge and king of ecclesiastical propoganda, but a violent and unyielding tyrant, supported by a programme of spiritual manipulation, extortion, and terrorism, and consumed by a gnawing lust and hunger for that which only we, his children, can give him, and for which he is shown to be the greatest and most violent rapist and paedophile of all.
Today, I begin the work of translating the Dialogue to its rightful place at IMPERIVM INFERNVM, starting with an addenda, whole to itself, and being my answer to an article submitted during the debate by the christian champion, apparently to buttress his position: "Why Man Should Serve God," being an answer to the apologists, and rejecting their defence of obligation to the christian god, presently in AD FORO's Verba Seria, and to be permanently committed to its own section, apart from my other work, it being the crowning acheivement of this enterprise to date.
The remaining portions of the Dialogue I can only hope to commit to IMPERIVM INFERNVM a small piece at a time and no oftener than once a week. I do not expect it to be complete for public display even by the end of Winter. This is perhaps best since, in its entireity, it would certainly defeat the resolve of all but those most so sickly fascinated with it as to be adjudged not wholly sane. It suffices at this point to state that it has not been for a lack of material nearly so much as the lack of the luxury of time that has kept me from updating so frequently and with as much new work as has been the case in the past. It is my hope that my work can continue once again at a regular pace, that the Empire can continue to grow, and that my best work can find its way to the minds of those who would care to have it, for whatever cause they may.
Revised 8 November 2002, notice posted 11 November 2002: I've been away for a long while, explanation being immediately forthcoming, as soon as I dispose of the smaller matter - October's article for LVDIBRIVM has finally made it's appearance, better than an entire week late, but complete by no small act of labour. That one was a bitch to put together, but it was utterly worth it, I've been waiting for a very long time to string Frank and Bev up where they belong.
[CONTENT DELETED]
Revised 7 October 2002: Presented in AD FORO's Verba Seria, a new literary critique and examination, being a discussion of selected works of Alexander Pope and William Blake, and entitled "A Blackening Clockwork."
Revised 30 September 2002: My work offsite has kept me away for almost the entire month yet again, furiously busy as I've been assembling the Dialogue, continuing my posts, and pursuing my studies (which are, ironically, the true hobby against my real job, writing shit online). October should be a splendid month for new material, with most of the Dialogue nearly ready to post (this will be done probably in six to eight parts over the rest of this year), a long awaited essay, "On War," and the LVDIBRIVM segment I've been waiting for - Frank (oh boy, oh girl) Picha himself. If this means nothing now, wait. It will be worth it.
Rambling aside, I have finally, and just in time, produced this month's victim - also from Anti-Atheist-Twebsites, and representing atheist fundamentalism, presented for your amusement this last day of September in LVDIBRIVM. I have also, after much time spent meaning to do it but never coming around, I've selected my recommended reading from the Archives and have given it honour in its own section in the FORVM, as my Recommended Draughts.
Revised 5 September 2002: Time has been harder and harder to come by, especially as I am currently well-invested in my new debate list, Antiatheist Websites, where I am going blow for blow with the resident christian champion there. The debate there has been yielding an impressive dialogue from which I will be able to press almost unlimited material for the next few months to come, if I am ambitious and have any good fortune.
It would have been my hope, with this update, to present some of that material. But for now, I'm decently content to offer this rant, which had been, for the whole last month, rotting away as a work-in-progress. "On Angels and Idiots," or "My Proof that Idiocy is a Believer's Disease," now in AD FORO's Verba Irata.
Revised 7 August 2002:
"If it wasn't for idiots like you, there wouldn't be any thieves in this world, now would there, Private Pile?" - Full Metal Jacket
This time, we just skipped the whole damned month of July. Considering we really strung up two victims for August (and let me hang out with them for a spell), I think this is only fair. This month's article now in LVDIBRIVM.
Revised 26 July 2002: Wanting to give a complete account for the new aesthetic regime enjoyed by the Infernal Empire since yesterday's overhaul, I present, as an addendum to "On Religion" (which lays permanently enshrined in the TEMPLVM LVCIFERI), and on temporary display in AD FORO's Verba Seria, "An Aesthetic Revolution: Being a discussion of the causes and meaning of the recent metamorphosis of the Infernal Empire." And, the first of what promises to be an imperial tradition of Infernal Parables: "An Infernal Parable: By which one finds all fault in god," now in AD FORO's Verba Comica.
Revised 25 July 2002: I am very mindful that it has been nearly a month and there have been no updates, and though I regret it, I make no apologies for it. The distractions of the last month have kept me from my work here, which I expect to fully resume in August.
For now, I am superlatively pleased to unveil the new face of the empire, a task which has itself been a few weeks in the making. IMPERIVM INFERNVM is intended as a reflection of its author, and whether the original incarnation was insincere, inaccurate, or simply obsolete, I have no way of saying. It is enough to state that it was time for a change.
LAVDARIVM and LVCIFERNALIA have been scrapped, the former being an unhealing ulcer of unfinished construction, the latter for being a superfluous puerility. When and if LVCIFERNALIA is ever worth unveiling here again, it may return: Until then, the Empire has outgrown it.
This update has not been purely cosmetic, however. In what I intend to be the first of what will be a great body of cutting counter-apologetic draughts, I offer "The God that Failed: A Lyric Critique of Creation," now in AD FORO's Verba Irata.
Revised 28 June 2002: In a rare piece of literary commentary, I give my interpretation of Euripides' Medea as a paradox of perfect liberation attained through complete self-sacrifice: "On Medea: Sympathy for the Devil," in AD FORO's Verba Seria.
Revised 19 June 2002: "A father does not administer second hand marijuana smoke to an 8 month old as a cheap alternative to a babysitter... A father does not put his two year old daughter out on the side of the road in her diaper and bare feet and send her walking in uncertain steps a quarter of a mile home."
In April I spoke of those I love to hate: This month, I speak of those I only want to see dead. This month's article, now on display in LVDIBRIVM.
Revised 15 June 2002: The Empire expands... Three submissions from Blaze, webmaster of Blaze of Satan: "Satanism," "A Superior Race," and "Psychological Superiority," in AD FORO's newest section, Ex Patris Sociis (From Allied Nations); and, adapted from yet another one of my runaway posts in Antichristian Debate, "The Cycle of Empire and the Dawn of the Satanic Age" now in AD FORO's Verba Seria.
Revised 11 June 2002: Some comic selections for this update: "The Second Coming of Jesus Christ," alternately entitled "Why Mary Magdalene's feet were under the table at the Last Supper," and for those who've grown tired of the masturbatory antics of bible thumping curb barkers and soul solicitors, "Counter-Evangelism 101," now in AD FORO's Verba Comica.
Revised 10 June 2002: This late in the month, it had better be a good update, and I think it is: "On Homosexuality" and "Church and State Revisited" in AD FORO, and the last six chapters of "Pressure," in the Prose section of "About the Host."
Revised 29 May 2002: The saga continues... Transcribed from private archive, chapters V and VI of "Pressure" now in the Prose section of "About the Host."
Revised 28 May 2002: Been very busy with entirely cosmetic concerns for IMPERIVM INFERNVM for the last couple of weeks, especially in PORTAE and SEPVLCHRVM, I'm very pleased with what I've done there. With more than two weeks since the last update and almost a month since the last essay, I finally present "On Causality: An Argument Against Free Will," now in AD FORO's Verba Seria.
Revised 12 May 2002: A week late, but I have finally submitted this month's artice in LVDIBRIVM: I don't know which is worse, a police department too stupid to prevent a bunch of petty thieves from robbing their precinct blind, or the thieves themselves, who were apprehended in a manner which would have been precluded by any measure of common sense... You tell me, see for yourself.
Revised 10 May 2002: Transcribed from private archive, three editorial letters, two to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, one to the Montgomery Advertiser; two of my old poems: "Remembering His Lover" and "Necropolis (Unfinished);" and finally, my old Personal Statement; now in "About the Host."
Revised 9 May 2002: Transcribed from private archive, "Chemistry: The Phantom Menace," a humorous but vitriolic critique of the social implications of Prozac, Olestra, etc, "Litteratus Non Est," my critique of Freud's analysis of Hamlet, and "The Columbine Revolution," being my unfinished attempt at a personal account and definitive objective analysis of the school shooting phenomenon: Now in the Prose section of Writings in "About the Host."
Revised 8 May 2002: Added chapters III and IV to "Pressure." Also added the lyrics to Sarah McLachlan's "Do What You Have To Do" to the Songs section of About the Host: I first heard this song yesterday and have probably listened to it a dozen times since then already. Perhaps my tastes aren't in keeping with the usual expectations, but my tastes are my own nonetheless. The song is impossibly beautiful and powerfully moving, and for that reason I include it.
Revised 3 May 2002: Starting what promises to be a task long in coming, I have transcribed and submitted the preface and first two chapters of a fiction novella, "Pressure" being a young woman's ordeal and adventure of bondage, captivity, and peril at the hands of her criminal abductors: Now in "About the Host."
Revised 1 May 2002: Two new works for the month of May: In Ad Foro's Verba Comica, "An Answer to the New School Prayer." In Verba Triste, an article literally months in the making, being an adapted record of my collected observations of a vast region of rural decay typified by the title locale, "Arnco: Glimpses of Southern Hell."
Revised 22 April 2002: More than three months since inaugeration and I have only now gotten around to what is apparently the first (sometimes the ONLY) thing most of the other satanic personal pages do: Define Satan. "Defining Satan" now in Ad Foro.
Revised 19 April 2002: Dissatisfied with the original words to a song submitted on the twelfth, I have since been burning lean tissue into the night to rewrite the lyrics to "Asking As I Fall." Now on permanent display in "About the Host."
Revised 16 April 2002: Directly from the message board at Yahoo's AntiChristianDebate, "Examining the United States of America as a Christian State," with foreward by yours truly, and offered as an addendum to "On Church and State," along with an analysis of my understanding of the Christian concept of the Deity, "An Anatomy of God," and for the sake of levity, some "New Products for the Satanic Consumer Market," now in AD FORO.
Revised 12 April 2002: In a burst of wanton creativity, I have finished a lyric composition that has been swirling in my head for a number of months now, and even built a place for it in "About the Host." This is something of an accomplishment, considering that section hasn't been updated more or less since inaugeration. But I ramble: "Asking As I Fall" now on display.
Revised 9 April 2002: Adapted from my runaway post in Yahoo's Antichristian Debate group, "On Church and State" now on display in Ad Foro.
Revised 5 April 2002: A new essay, "A Question of Religion," being a needed disclaimer distinguishing religious faith from religious establishment, with addendum, "A Word on Aesthetics," now in Ad Foro.
Revised 4 April 2002: Visit the shitbag who inspired Ludibrium! This month's victim now on display...
Revised 1 April 2002: No real update per se, other than to offer proof that I am still alive. Only two essays last month, which found me occupied in other endeavors, it is my sincere hope that I'll be able to put out more drafts in April. Lucifernalia seems as though it might be on the back burner indefinitely, still waiting for .wav files. I won't even worry about that right now. Projects for the new month will be to finally put some material in "About the Host" and "Laudarium," which remain under construction even two months after inaugeration. With luck I will have the new article in Ludibrium before the end of the week, and should have a few more essays in the days and weeks to come.
Revised 11 March 2002: I am very pleased to present in Ad Foro "An Apology for Duty," being the confessions of a Satanist in the American armed forces, and dedicated to the memory of those who lost their lives six months ago this day.
Revised 10 March 2002: Finally, a new essay for the month of March: An Argument for the Voluntary Cessation of Want. Another promised essay, An Apology for Duty, is nearly complete and hopefully will be in Ad Foro by the end of the week.
Revised 4 March 2002: After a short respite, a new article in Ludibrium: Taken directly from the Atlanta Journal Constitution, and no, IT ISN'T SATIRE. See for yourself (don't forget to have a suitable container on hand in which to vomit). I expect to have new essays coming in the next week, as well, so keep an eye out.
Revised 22 February 2002: Submitted the ninth and final essay in the series of The Nine Satanic Statements. Overall I'm very proud of the whole set, and pleasantly surprised that I was able to submit it in the space of only ten days. There will, of course, be more to come in the near future.Revised 21 February 2002: Submitted the eighth essay in the series of The Nine Satanic Statements. I'm almost through with the series, I can expect to have the Ninth Statement out tomorrow. I do not intend to start submitting the next series (on the Eleven Satanic Rules of the Earth) until March, I'm going to focus instead on issuing something on a slightly different vein...
Revised 20 February 2002: Submitted the seventh essay in the series of The Nine Satanic Statements. Regrettably, I have not been able to produce the promised article in Laudarium, but will have it out as soon as possible. Otherwise, everything is going as I would like, and I am very pleased. The two remaining essays are on track to be finished by week's end, so keep an eye out for them. Thank you for visiting the Empire.
Revised 18 February 2002: Submitted the sixth essay in the series "The Nine Satanic Statements." I am also very pleased (and amused) that the Infernal Empire has been marked by its first visiting ambassador from Vacation Bible School: pay Violet's graffiti a visit in Muri Urbis, and leave some of your own if it pleases you, that's what the guestbook is for. Thank you for visiting the Empire.
Revised 16 February 2002: Submitted the fifth essay in the series. I expect the rest to be complete by the end of the next week. Keep looking out for new submissions, they will be here. Thank you for visiting the Empire.
Revised 14 February 2002: Submitted two more essays in Ad Foro, not bad for an evening's work. I am very pleased with how the essays have been coming so far, and it is very nice to see some flesh on this site in terms of content. Somewhere down the line I'm going to compile my autobiography and personal information for 'About the Host,' which is the last gaping hole in Imperium Infernum, it has been essentially unchanged since inaugeration. A reminder: The first article in Laudarium will be presented on the 20th.
Revised 13 February 2002: Submitted the second essay of the Satanic Statements series. I expect to be able to keep them coming either daily or every other day. Also in the works for the future is a series on the Eleven Rules of the Earth and on the Nine Satanic Sins, as well as some independent compositions on other topics. Needless to say, Ad Foro is going to be well stocked for a while to come. The site is quite nearly in full operation and I am very pleased. Thank you for visiting the Infernal Empire.
Revised 12 February 2002: Submitted the first of a series of nine essays on the Nine Satanic Statements in Ad Foro and modified Laudarium to receive its first honoree on the twentieth of the month with the Waxing Quarter Moon. I expect to have the entire series finished by the end of the month.
Revised 7 February 2002: LUCIFERNALIA IS COMPLETE! The .wav files are still missing but all nine chambres are finished and ready for viewing. All things considered I think the labor has paid off. I expect to have audio in Lucifernalia by the end of March at the very latest, it is more likely that it will be done by the end of February if I've any good fortune. The first article in Laudarium can be expected with the First Quarter Moon; I hope I am able to yield some essays in Ad Foro along with it. Be sure to look for them in the weeks ahead.
Revised 5 February 2002: Drafted and installed the Philosophy Statement and completed the Templum Luciferi.
Revised 4 February 2002: Posted the first article in Ludibrium. Extensive work has been done on Lucifernalia, which is very near completion. I am still attempting to collect the .wav files I require; this enterprise will likely be the most time consuming of all. I am confident, however, that all of the labor will pay off handsomely.
Revised 27 January 2002: Drafted and installed the Mission Statement.
Revised 24 January 2002: Converted remaining pages to pure HTML and added finishing touches almost everywhere. Overall I am extremely pleased with the site, and more so that all is apparently going according to schedule. In the days and weeks to come more links will be added in Portae and the Mission and Philosophy statements drafted and displayed. I do not expect to have articles in Ad Foro until the next Full Moon, but I may be willing to surprise myself, so keep checking for new stuff. Once again, thank you for visiting Imperium Infernum.
Revised 22 January 2002: Initiated conversion from Basic Editor to pure HTML, permitting unrestricted construction and groundbreaking on Lucifernalia.
Revised 19 January 2002: Uploaded a small bit more than three megabytes of animations and images, laying the final approach to constructing Lucifernalia. Also updated the image in Ludibrium, substituting it with something I thought more appropriate to the mission of that section.
Revised 17 January 2002: I've installed today a guestbook with only slight effort and the minimum of frustration. I've also laid the first revision notice to rest at Sepulchrum, which is now open. The page is progressing beautifully though it remains under construction. I am confident it will be to my perfect satisfaction within a fortnight.
Revised 15 January 2002: Linked all pages, making the site completely navigable. I apologize that there isn't much to Imperium Infernum as yet, being that she is still in the initial stages of her construction. It is my intention to continue building and embellishing through the current month, adding more images and replacing the nauseatingly boring Times New Roman with a much more interesting type. The first essays can be expected to appear in Ad Foro with the full moon, 28 January 2002, along with articles in Laudarium and Ludibrium. More links will be added as time goes on, and a usable guestbook will be installed as expediently as is possible. Lucifernalia is going to require the enormous expenditure of time and labor, and will thus not be available for a long while to come.
