FROST, John Clark ""Jack"" - 62, Lower Sackville, died suddenly on January 8, 2005. Born in Lochaber Mines, January 9, 1942, he was a son of the late Austin and Carrie (MacDonald) Frost. John was a hardworking man who worked many jobs throughout his career. He spent many years at Seaboard Diesel as well as at the Nova Scotia Nautical Institute, Halifax. He was most proud of the businesses he owned and operated; Eastern Diesel Supplies Ltd., and two high pressure washes. One he owned with his son, and the other with his son-in-law, Kevin. Later in life he enjoyed his time at the Petro Pass with his long-time friend, Gordie. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Irene ""Rene"" (Fawson); children, Carrie Anne Schmidt (Stew), Millet, Alberta; Jon (Lisa), Upper Tantallon; Seana Pinkney (Kevin), Lower Sackville; brother, Joseph, Fredericton, N.B.; sisters, Emma Parks, Sheet Harbour; Shirley MacKay, Sherbrooke; Vicky Crowell, St. Croix; Sylvia Monk, Ship Harbour; Darlene, Dartmouth; Evelyn, Lower Sackville; Sigrid, Ship Harbour; grandchildren, Melissa, Kirk, Samantha, and Noah; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Bonnie Hutka. He was a fun-loving man with a full belly laugh. You always knew where you stood with John, and there was nothing he wouldn't do for his loved ones. His wife and family were his pride and joy, especially his grandchildren. John ""Jack"" touched many hearts, he will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 11, from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville. Funeral mass will be held Wednesday, January 12, 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, corner of Russell and Gottingen Streets, Halifax, Father Paul Morris officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. Donations may be made to St. James United Church, Lochaber Mines."

Friday, February 11, 2005 WRIGHT, Avard Cecil - 79, Stewiacke East, passed away at home on Tuesday, February 8, 2005. Born June 16, 1925 in West St. Andrews, he was a son of the late Orestes F. and Mary Jane (Rankin) Wright. Avard was a veteran of the Second World War having served in Holland and North West Europe with the Royal Montreal Regiment. He was a self-employed trucker most of his life and was also employed with Irving Oil, Acadian Bus Lines, R.L. Stewart Lumber, National Gypsum and Colchester School Board. He drove one of the two buses in the opening ceremonies of the Canso Causeway in 1955. Avard was a member and one of the many hands in the building of No. 70 Branch Royal Canadian Legion, Stewiacke. During his retirement he enjoyed working on his woodlot, driving his ATV and tractor, going to Don Annand's garage and visits to his good buddy Ben Fleck at the Mira. Avard was an avid Boston Red Sox and Bruins fan. He really enjoyed a good game of playing cards. He is survived by son, Stephen (Valerie), Stewiacke East; daughters, Janice (Dave) Peterson, Brookfield; Faye (Ernie) Maguire, Calgary; brother, Harold (Bernice), Abbotsford, B.C.; sister-in-law, Anne (Todd) Wright, Ottawa; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several cousins, four nieces and one nephew. He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce Crawford; daughter, Bette Marie; grandson, Stephen Fraser; brother, Lloyd; uncles, Eldridge Wright, Murray Rankin and Aunt Ella Totten. Visitation Friday, February 11, from 6-9 p.m.; funeral 2 p.m. Saturday, February 12, both in Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie, Rev. David LeBlanc officiating. A reception will follow in St. Andrew's Church Hall. Spring interment in Pine Grove Cemetery. Family flowers only.
