Air force on alert about UFO

Lisbon - The Portuguese air force has been on alert since late on
Tuesday, when several authorities and witnesses reported seeing a luminous
unidentified flying object, the national press reported.
"Military radar surveillance has been increased and F16 planes are
ready for take-off," reported the tabloid daily, Correio da Manha, on
Thursday.
It said the Portuguese civil protection service had received scores of
calls from people who reported briefly seeing a silent, luminous object

Part 5 - Report Conclusion
The Bender Interview
After much persuasion Bender agreed to one personal interview
concerning the reasons he had quit his Flying Saucer studies and shut down his
group, the International Flying Saucer Bureau, and refused to talk about
the subject any longer. We pick the story up on page 95 of Gray
Barker’s book on the subject, “They Knew Too Much About Flying Saucers“
(1967)..
Here is the complete unedited interview given by Bender to Augie
Roberts, IFSB’s UFO photographic expert, and the groups Aeronautical
Consultant Dominick C. Luccesi. Bender gave the interview reluctantly and with
the understanding that he would not answer any questions that might
endanger “National Security.”
“Roberts does not record who asked specific questions, he or
Lucchesi, nor does it matter. Both quizzed Bender.
“I hope you will read carefully this account of one of the world’s
strangest quiz programs, which took place October 4, 1953, in Bender’s
home, a program never broadcast or telecast, a show in which the only prize
was $64,000 worth of confusion.
Q. When did the three men visit you?
A. I can’t answer that.
Q. Who were the men?
A. I can’t answer that.
Q. Were they from the government?
A. I can’t answer that.
Q. Do saucers come from space?
A. I can’t answer that.
Q. Are the saucers real; are they made of something solid?
A. I can’t answer that.
Q. Does it have anything to do with the space platform?
A. I can’t answer that.
Q. Can you tell me where you found your source of information?
A. I was turning a theory over and over in my mind. When I got some
actual names and places to back it up I submitted it to someone. Then
the men came.
Q. Who was that “someone” you mention?
A. I can’t answer that.
Q. Does it have anything at all to do with the Shaver mystery?
A. No answer at all. (Bender tensed noticeably when asked).
Q. Is the flying saucer going to be a help to the world?
A. It’s going to be both good and bad.
Q. Are saucers going to harm us in any way?
A. I can’t answer that.
Q. What do you think of Shaver? Is there anything to his stories?
A. No answer: Bender changed the subject.
Q. Do you think that it will be safe for me to go on the sky
watchtower all-alone at night?
A. It would be safer (Roberts believes Bender probably meant to say it
would be safer on the tower than it would be on the ground).
Q. Are all of us who are trying to find out what the saucers are about
to get into trouble over it?
A. I don’t believe so.”
Q. Will Gray, Dom and I get into trouble over what you found out? Did
we have anything to do with giving you a clue?
A. No, to both questions.
Q. Does the government know about saucers?
A. They have known what they are for two years.
Q. Will they tell the people what they are?
A. It has got to the point where they will have to.
Q. When will the government tell the people about the saucers?
A. If not within five months from now, not for about four years.
Q. Is it going to be frightening to a lot of people?
A. If people like you and me have an idea what saucers are, and expect
something unusual and fantastic, think what will happen when it is
suddenly told to people who are totally unprepared.
Q. Do we have any defense for it?
A. No.
Q. Can we stop what is coming?
A. Just as the three men who paid me a visit were leaving, one of them
lingered for a moment and said, “In our government we have the smartest
people in the country. They can’t find a defense for it. How can you
do anything about it?
Q. In that case I’ll buy myself a good gun.
A. That won’t help you much.
Q. Can it be stopped by a bullet?
A. I can’t answer that.
Q. Why can’t you talk freely about this thing?
A. Just before the men left one of them said, “I suppose you know
you’re on your honor as an American. If I hear another word out of your
office you’re in trouble.
Q. What will they do with you if you give out information?
A. Put me in jail and keep me shut up.
Q. Would they put me in jail if I found out and told?
A. Yes.
Q. At hone do I have the answer as to what the saucers are?
A. I’m quite sure you do.
Q. Can you tell me where to look for the answers?
A. I can’t tell you that.
Q. How did you find out about it? Can’t you tell just where you got
your theory?
A. All I can say is this: It has something that I was thinking about
for a long time. I went into the fantastic and came up with the
answer.
Q. How did the three men find out about your theory?
A. I wrote about it and was going to have it printed. I sent it to a
friend of mine, and right away the three men paid me a visit. They had
my story with them.
Q. Were the men friendly with you?
A. They were pretty rough with me. Two men did all the talking, and
the other kept watching me all the time they were there.
Q. Did you notice what the men wore?
A. They wrote the same type of clothes and hats. Dark clothes and
black hats.
Q. Did they make any comments about the size of IFSB?
A. One of them went over to the map on the wall, saw all the pins
denoting locations of IFSB representatives, and said, “God, but you’re all
over the place!”
Q. What else did they do in your office besides talk?
A. They took the serial numbers of my tape recorders.
Q. Do they know about Gray, Dom and me?
A. They had all of you’re addresses and details about you with the
papers they had in their hands.
Q. Do the saucers have life in them?
A. I can’t answer that.
Q. Do the saucers come from Venus as stated in Adamski’s book?
A. I can’t answer that.
Q. Do they come from Mars?
A. I can’t answer that.
Q. I would like to write a story to sell to a magazine. Can you give
me a good subject to write about? (This question was asked in the hope
of obtaining some clue.)
A. Here is something no one has used before. Suppose there was
another world out in space, and there the people were black. What do you
think would happen if they came to this planet? Do you think they would
help the colored or the white people? You know the prejudices that
exist here, and if they came to earth, what do you think would happen? It
would make a good story, don’t you think?
Q. What will happen to the world when the people find out about the
saucers?
A. There are going to be quite a few changes, in all things.
Q. Will it affect science?
A. It is going to put a big dent in it.
Q. Are you making any long-range plans, say for about five years from
now?
A. Yes.
Q. Then the world isn’t going to end?
A. No answer. Subject was changed to the ice caps at the South Pole.
Q. Do you think the world will fall over if the ice keeps
accumulating?
A. I don’t know.
Q. Has the South Pole anything to do with saucers?
A. I can’t answer that.
Q. There are only half a dozen things I can think of right now to
explain the saucers: Out of space, something to do with a space platform,
some government on Earth owns it, Shaver was right, its in the ocean,
it could be a time machine. Or it may very well be that the United
States has reached the moon.
A. You forgot natural phenomena.
Q. Do you mean the saucers are life themselves? If so I can’t believe
that, I saw one last year, and it was a solid aircraft of some kind.
A. I can’t answer that.
Q. You say you know what the saucers are. Do they look like what I
saw and described to you last year?
A. I can’t answer that.
Q. Do the saucers you know about look about like what everybody else is
seeing?
A. I can’t answer that.
Q. Why do you delay answering each of my questions for a few seconds?
A. I’m afraid of slipping: If I do I can get into a lot of trouble.
Q. With this information you claim to know about the saucers, if you
did write about it, and had it published, what would happen?
A. I would likely go down in history. Also I would go to jail for
quite a long time.
Q. Can you tell me why I can’t continue what I’m doing about saucers?
You told me to stop wasting my time with them, and to stop spending my
money on research.
A. I can’t answer that.
Q. If I keep going to the sky watchtower with my camera will I be able
to get another picture of a saucer?
A. You might.
Q. Was the saucer I photographed last year real? Did I prove its
reality to you?
A. I can’t answer that.
Q. Will it affect all of our lives?
A. There will be changes in everyone’s lives.
Q. You said the three men who paid you the visit were pretty rough
with you. Can you tell me just what you meant by that?
A. They were not too friendly.

““The Bender mystery is not solved. I have collected reams of notes
about it. I could write two books like this one filled with theories and
data I cannot publish here because of space limitations and other
reasons. …”

I believe this important interview contains the complete answer to the
saucer question. And there is plenty of hard evidence to back it up
to. If you use Gray Barker’s book, “They Knew Too Much About Flying
Saucers” as your starting point for your own research you will easily find
the answer yourself … a hint … start with what Bender doesn’t say and
ignore the stock “I can’t tell you” and you’ll be on the right trail.
But heed this warning. While on that path remember the title of the
late Mr. Barker’s book and what happened to those who found out … be

Part 1211 - Extra-terrestrial Exposure
1211.100 - Scope
This part establishes: (a) NASA policy, responsibility and authority to
guard the Earth against any harmful contamination or adverse changes in
its environment resulting from personnel, spacecraft and other property
returning to the Earth after landing on or coming within the
atmospheric envelope of a celestial body; and (b) security requirements,
restrictions and safeguards that are necessary in the interest of national
security.
1211.101 - Applicability
The provisions of this part to all NASA manned and unmanned space
missions which land or come within the atmospheric envelope of a celestial
body and return to the Earth.
1211.102 - Definitions
(a) "NASA" and the "Administrator" mean, respectively the National
Aeronautics and Space Administration and the administrator of the National
Aeronautics and Space Administration or his authorized representative.
(b) "Extra-terrestrially exposed" means the state of condition of any
person, property, animal or other form of life or matter whatever, who
or which has:
(1) Touched directly or come within the atmospheric envelope or any
other celestial body; or
(2) Touched directly or been in close proximity to (or been exposed
indirectly to) any person, property, animal or other form of life or
matter who or which has been extra-terrestrially exposed by virtue of
paragraph (b)(1) of this section.
For example, if person or thing "A" touches the surface of the Moon,
and on "A's" return to Earth, "B" touches "A" and, subsequently, "C"
touches "B", all of these - "A" through "C" inclusive - would be
extra-terrestrially exposed ("A" and "B" directly; "C" indirectly).
(c) "Quarantine" means the detention, examination and decontamination
of any persons, property, animal or other form of life or matter
whatever that is extra-terrestrially exposed, and includes the apprehension or
seizure of such person, property, animal or other form of life or
matter whatever.
(d) "Quarantine period" means a period of consecutive calendar days as
may be established in accordance with 1211.104 (a).
(a) Administrative actions. The Administrator or his designee shall in
his discretion:
(1) Determine the beginning and duration of a quarantine period with
respect to any space mission; the quarantine period as it applies to
various life forms will be announced.
(2) Designate in writing quarantine officers to exercise quarantine
authority.
(3) Determine that a particular person, property, animal, or other form
of life or matter whatever is extra- terrestrially exposed and
quarantine such person, property, animal, or other form of life or matter
whatever. The quarantine may be based only on a determination, with or
without the benefit of a hearing, that there is probable cause to believe
that such person, property, animal or other form of life or matter
whatever is extra-terrestrially exposed.
(4) Determine within the United States or within vessels or vehicles of
the United States the place, boundaries, and rules of operation of
necessary quarantine stations.
(5) Provide for guard services by contract or otherwise, as many be
necessary, to maintain security and inviolability of quarantine stations
and quarantined persons, property, animals or other form of life or
matter whatever.
(6) Provide for the subsistence, health and welfare of persons
quarantined under the provisions of this part.
(7) Hold such hearings at such times, in such manner and for such
purposes as may be desirable or necessary under this part, including
hearings for the purpose of creating a record for use in making any
determination under this part for the purpose of reviewing any such
determination.
(b) (3) During any period of announced quarantine, no person shall
enter or depart from the limits of the quarantine station without
permission of the cognizant NASA officer. During such period, the posted
perimeter of a quarantine station shall be secured by armed guard.
(b) (4) Any person who enters the limits of any quarantine station
during the quarantine period shall be deemed to have consented to the
quarantine of his person if it is determined that he is or has become
extra-terrestrially exposed.
(b) (5) At the earliest practicable time, each person who is
quarantined by NASA shall be given a reasonable opportunity to communicate by
telephone with legal counsel or other persons of his choice.
1211.107 Court or other process
(a) NASA officers and employees are prohibited from discharging from
the limits of a quarantine station any quarantined person, property,
animal or other form of life or matter whatever during order or other
request, order or demand an announced quarantine period in compliance with a
subpoena, show cause or any court or other authority without the prior
approval of the General Counsel and the Administrator.
(b) Where approval to discharge a quarantined person, property, animal
or other form of life or matter whatever in compliance with such a
request, order or demand of any court or other authority is not given, the
person to whom it is directed shall, if possible, appear in court or
before the other authority and respectfully state his inability to
comply, relying for his action on this 1211.107.
1211.108 Violations
Whoever willfully violates, attempts to violate, or conspires to
violate any provision of this part or any regulation or order issued under
this part or who enters or departs from the limits of a quarantine
station in disregard of the quarantine rules or regulations or without
permission of the NASA quarantine officer shall be fined not more that $5,000
or imprisoned not more than 1 year, or both.

So anyone exposed to an Alien or his craft can be quarantined under
guard for as long as the government wants. So much for civil rights if
you accidentally run into an Alien on your way home from the mall some
night. And even scarier, you can be thrown in the slammer and fined
5,000 bucks for “letting yourself be exposed.”
Makes you wonder --- does someone know something we don’t know?
An added note: It sure would be interesting to find out what the other
“Reserved” Parts of Title 14 -- 1205, 1211, 1275 thru 1299 -- are.

The Commandment Rod
The following two reports came to me from “Monica” who sent it to me in
Spanish just as she received it. I then passed it along to Hollow
Earth researcher/writer Dean who was kind enough to translate it for us.

The Commandment Rod
Another mysterious object, as mysterious as the arc of alliance, is the
Commandment Rod. The only information that we have consists of the
comments which Miguel Blanco made on his program. This is why we are
limiting ourselves here to reproducing an article which he himself wrote and
which was published on mundomisterioso.com/
Occult sects, esoteric groups, ambitious politicians, collective Nazis-
all of them want to come into possession of the Commandment Rod, which
is an archaeological treasure of the native Indians of Argentina, [and
is] supposedly equipped with marvelous powers. Its proprietor, a man
convinced that it could serve as an antenna for entering into contact
with beings from other dimensions, passed away recently, and the object is
looking for a new caretaker. Mundo Mysterioso was in Cordoba,
Argentina, recently in order to reconstruct the history of the rod and to find
out about the legends in connection with this object, which is as famous
as the Holy Grail.
Many years had passed since the last time that we had stroked that
object. Its current caretaker, after the passing of the man who, for
decades, was its mysterious owner, ended up burying it in its hiding place a
little before our arrival in Argentina. We could even perceive an
earthy scent as we took a hold of, once again, that much sought after,
esoteric rod. Paradoxically, after only a few years of “service”, the one
and only Commandment Rod came back to the only home that it had known for
centuries- the innards of the Earth. This is where it had remained
hidden since its earlier caretakers, the Comechingones Indians, had buried
it so that it wouldn’t fall into the hands of the devastating, Spanish
conquistadores. However, according to the prediction of its current
caretaker, in the year 2001, the surprising Commandment Rod, supposedly
called on to carry out a messiah-like mission .in the new millennea,
could actually leave Argentina, and the Americas, for good.
A Thousand Years of Legends
Juan José Benítez, after having gone all over the planet and having
investigated all kinds of extraordinary happenings and objects, choose
none other than the Commandment Rod as one of his favorite mysteries and
included it in his book My Favorite Enigmas (Plaza & Janés). As the
Navarro writer explains, after analyzing some classic works such as The
Opera Parsifal or La Montaña del Sol, he came to the conclusion that there
is an esoteric tradition, according to which the mystic squire of the
no-less-than legendary Sir Lancelot, along with an expedition of Templar
Knights, had crossed the Atlantic much before Columbus and had
transported to the New World, more specifically to Argentina, a series of
sacred objects. Among them was found the Holy Grail, which should have been
deposited along with another empowered object, the Commandment Rod in
question.
From this point on, Benítez suggests, the Commandment Rod, also known
as the “Rock That Speaks,” “the Imán Rock” or the “Rock of Wisdom,”
would become an object as desired as the Holy Grail, and sought after by
men of science, adventurers, mystics and even military expeditions. Roger
Bacon had already spoken about this object in a published work in the
year 1230. The celebrated English philosopher and esotericist assures us
that the Holy Book and the Rock of Wisdom (and the Commandment Rod?)
are found hidden in a mountain range in a far away and silent land
located in the extreme part of the southern hemisphere. In 1830, an ambitious
Araucano Indian chief, who knew the legends of the tribes that inhabit
the northern and central part of Argentina, decided to penetrate with
his warriors the ranges of the Ventana, Tandil, Balcarse, Pillahuinco,
and San Luis, even arriving as far away as the city of Cordoba in search
of the speaking stone which will dominate the world.
The legends about the messiah-like properties of the rod had an effect
such that, between 1920 and 1940, successive German, English, Indian,
Japanese and French expeditions went on the hunt to capture the Wisdom
Stone. Even Hitler’s SS backed some of these expeditions, advised by
astrologers and seers of the Third Reich who considered the Commandment
Rod a fundamental piece that could help achieve the messiah-like mission
of the Fuhrer. But the Nazis, as with all of the other seekers, failed.
A Rod for Ulysses
The one who had the most luck was Orfelio Ulysses, a man who entered
into the esoteric history of Argentina in 1934. He had spent eight years
in Tibet where he heard for the first time, from the lips of the lamas
and the “masters from Shamballa”, talk of the Wisdom Stone. Years
later, after his return to Argentina, he would dig out the mythical rod from
its hiding place in which it had remained hidden for centuries: in the
hills of Uritorco de Capilla del Monte in the Department (state) of
Cordoba.
For some reason, Orfelio Ulysses felt that the keeper of that singular
piece of archaeology, pulled out from the interior of that mythical
mountain, must be none other than that exceptional personality, Dr.
Guillermo Alfredo Terrera. This man, a professor of law and social sciences
at the University of Cordoba since 1954, an open academic mind, ended up
becoming a point of reference for Argentine esoterism. Versed in many
disciplines and the author of numerous books, he was the custodian of
the Commandment Rod until the day of his death, which came to pass on
November 19, 1998.
Indian Legacy
The rod was found broken into three pieces of 43, 40 and 28
centimeters. It measures, in all, 1.11 meters in length and some 15 centimeters in
diameter. ( 15 centimeters = 6 inches ) It weighs something more than
4.5 kilograms, which seems to be light for its size.
Sculpted in basalt, the polishing of the stone is dated at 7,000 years
ago, which notably disconcerts historians and archaeologists. However,
for Guillermo Terrera, there was no problem in accepting this dating
since he naturally related the Commandment Rod with the origin of the
Comechingones Indians- bearded aborigines with Nordic features who had
populated the region before the arrival of the Spaniards, whose folklore
contained legends of contact with extraterrestrial gods before in the
past and of the subterranean city of Erks, supposedly populated by beings
from other realms which, as explained in his book Metaphysical
Anthropology, are to be found in the innards of the Uritorco hills. Besides,
said rod was a type of antenna, thanks to which, during the course of
strange ceremonies, he actually entered into contact with those beings
from other worlds.
Guillermo Terrera, whom we had the good fortune of knowing from a few
years back already, openly spoke without any reluctance against the
theories which link the arrival of the Commandment Rod with the Templars.
He proposes a different hypothesis on the origin of the rod and assures
us that superior beings led the ancient Comechingones. (By any chance
the supposed extraterrestrials whom they depicted in their cave
paintings?) who came across the Bering Strait down to Argentum (Argentina),
traveling so with the Commandment Rod in their possession.
The theories of this particular personality echo among different Latin
American esoteric groups, very much influenced- as Terrera was, for
sure, by esoteric Hitlerism and by the traditional mysticism which
influenced the Third Reich so much. Upon his death, as explained by the
sociologist Emilio Zubría and the journalist Alejandro Ravazzola, the
fascination of the small world of Argentine esotericism for his surprising
theories, a dangerous cocktail in which fascism, nationalism and Hermetism
(The Greek Hermes being the central figure), became all the greater.
All the esoteric-type groups have wanted to inherit the Commandment Rod.
But according to Ravazzola, only the Delfos group could be considered
as following in the line of the controversial occultist from Cordoba,
Argentina. In fact, according to his investigations, said group has
carried out numerous expeditions in the Uritorco Hills area as well as to
Patagonia, following the tips given by Terrera in his books insofar!
as the location of the Holy Grail in Argentina is concerned. It has
also investigated the pre-Columbian presence of the Templars in that
region of which Terrera’s books tell. Such unfounded proposals were naively
believed in by the WWII Nazis, many of whom took shelter in Argentina.
In this way they imported their conviction on the location of the
unusual object. This Nazi migration, for sure, has been confirmed by the
Wissental Center in Latin America as well as by the Mossad, which
discovered the continuity of esoteric Hitlerism, and Ufology, in Argentina. At
the present time this theory is carried forward by the Chilean diplomat
Miguel Serrano, known defender of the theory that the UFOs which we see
nowadays were developed by the Nazi engineers who survived WWII and
were able to gain entrance to certain subterranean cities such as Erks,
which are found under the Uritorca Hills.
Delfos and its leader, Fernando Fluguerto Martí, is envied as well as
admired by Argentine esotericists because of his being proclaimed the
inheritor, not only of Terrera’s knowledge, but also of the precious
Commandment Rod of which they are all so proud. But they are in illusion.
Those of the Rods
The sons of Guillermo Terrera live to the South of Buenos Aires. They
still remember, with a certain horror, the circumstances surrounding the
burial of their father. They explained to us that, even when the body
was still warm, some of those who attended the viewing leaned over the
rod as if they were kooks, claiming that they were the ones chosen by
the superior beings to inherit it. (It was Guellermo Junior who related
this). This young man, as tall and sturdy as his father, struggled with
them in order to recover the Rod which, in order to hide it, he ended
up burying in a certain hiding place. Thus, it comes as a surprise that
he tells us that he doesn’t know who the group Delfos is composed of.
Does this suggest that there were two rods, one in the possession of
the esoteric group, the other still under the custody of the Terrera
family? Yes! There is a false history of the rod. According to his son,
Guillermo Terrera made a replica of the rod out of fear of losing it to
the hands of visitors of dubious intentions.
The false rod did not have the cracks where the original had been
broken, and its weight was considerably less. Whoever had held both in his
or her hands could not help but to notice the difference. Now- how did
the false rod fall into the hands of the Delfos group in the first
place? According to what the Terrera family tells us, the second wife of the
man distanced herself after his death, from the sons of the first wife,
and did not delay at all in passing on the false rod to the Delfos
group. However, the original piece, the authentic one, together with its
pyramid base and tis “emory“ of thousands of years, remains in the care
of the Terrera family.
But these owners of the true rod do not know what to do with it nor how
to use it. For this reason, the family has decided to put up the
esoteric piece for sale, hoping that the person who acquires it will be a
prepared person, equipped to carry on the work of their father. They also
hope that it be somebody powerful, as powerful as Juan Domingo Péron or
Carlos Menim, the latter being a personal friend of Terrera. Both of
them wanted to acquire it in decade’s prior, although they weren’t able
to because Terrera didn’t want to let it go as long as he was living.
One thing is for sure: the new owner will have to spend millions of
dollars, which is something which has piqued the fear of the
investigators, who fear that the Commandment Rod might leave Argentina. The
possibility irritates them. “If it was found here, and here it had been since
the times of the Comechingones Indians, then we will adopt any legal
means necessary to make sure that it will come back to the place where it
always should have been, i.e., where it was found.” This is how the
mysterious Argentine investigator, Jorge Suarez, challenged from the
mystical, mysterious and disturbing Uritorco Hills.

METAPHYSICAL TALES
According to the metaphysical tale, in the XII century, the knight
Parsifal
took the Holy Grail and the Templar Cross, to deposit them, along with
the
Commandment Rod, in the general whereabouts of the holy hills of
Uritorco.
His purpose was transmuting the animal man into a man of superior
intellect,
to thus complete a work of spiritual and metaphysical brotherhood among
men.
In the year 1934, Orfelio Ulises, after an eight-year journey through
Tibet,
gave out secret information that had been guarded away in monasteries
for
milennia.
In contact with the great lamas, who instructed him about the mysteries
of
the sacred stone, decided to carry out his pilgrimage to South America,
where the monks telepathically guided him to the place where he would
finally find the Rod of Commandment, the Wisdom Stone.
The rod, 1.10 meters wide, is composed of polished basalt, black, and
was
crafted some 8,000 years back, by order of the great Chief Voltán o
Multán,
of the Comechingones tribe of Indians. Currently, Professor Guillermo
Terrera is in possession of the rod.
The sacred and majestic Sierra Uritorco, almost 2,000 meters high, is
one of
the sierras of lower elevation in the province of Cordoba, Argentina.
Before the conquest of America, this sierra was already considered
sacred by
the Indians of that time, the tribe known as Comechingones.
The oral tradition that has come to us, through the popular beliefs of
the
ancient people of the place, is that these tribes felt the extasy of
the
cosmic lights and through cosmic entities, that filled the skies. They
attributed these phenomena to the spirits of the dead of the millennia,
who
emerged from their tombs. The greater the light, the more energy the
spirits
were seen to have.
Also, men who disappeared through the boulders, without leaving any
trace,
could be seen walking through the hills [Uritorco}. It seemed that
these men
had come from the depths of the Earth.
PRE 1947 SIGHTINGS
The UFO phenomena gained prominence in the world during the 1950s, but
in an
interview which we had with professor José Alvarez López, who affirmed
that,
at the beginning of the 1900s, he already knew of the strange
happenings
that went on in the Uritorco Hills.
The professor of Atomic physics commented to us in that in1915 his
father-in-law, Don Oscar Correas, who at that time was only twelve
years
old, went out one afternoon to take a walk in the immediate area. He
got
lost until the next day in the Uritorcos because he had wandered too
far-
there, he witnessed a variety of lights that came and went, all night
long,
illuminating the entire sky.
In 1928, the mother of Romilio Rivero, who was sixteen years old, used
to
daily take his goats to pasture in the Terrones area, and high upon the
sierra, he could see a brilliant object with windows, even during the
day.
Obviously, it could not but be a UFO, since the area cannot be reached
anyway except by foot and, in some parts, by climbing.
In 1935, Manuel Reina and a friend left Charbonier bound for a
neighboring
town when, all of the sudden, at a curve in the path, they found in
front of
them a being clad in a brilliant, skin tight suit, as if it were
plastic. The
being had something strange about him; he observed them and the felt
themselves paralyzed, they couldn’t move forwards nor backwards, thus
having
no other option but to wait until the enigmatic personality
disappeared.

Geoff Chester, a spokesman for the Naval Observatory in Washington,
D.C. ,
said it was a type of meteor called a bolide, one which appears bright
like a fireball in the sky.
Toby Smith, a University of Washington astronomy lecturer who
specializes in meteorites, said the sky bursts were reported over a wide area
around 2:40 a.m.
Bright flashes and sharp booms were reported in the skies over Western
Washington. Viewers from Lakewood to Camano Island called KIRO 7
Eyewitness News, saying they were awakened by light or the booms.
Witnesses along a 60-mile swath of the Puget Sound region from the
Tacoma area to Whidbey Island and as far as 260 miles to the east said the
sky lit up brilliantly, and many reported Booms as if from one or more
Explosions.
Civilian pilots reported seeing the flash from Ellensburg, east of the
Cascade Range, said an FAA duty officer who did not give her name.
At Whidbey Island Naval Air Station about 40 miles north of Seattle,
Petty Officer Andrew Davis said he and others saw the skyburst.
"It made a pretty big bang," Davis said. "We thought it could maybe be
a meteorite or something."

The AP originally reported that a large METEORITE had CRASHED. The
original story, which AP released at 7:03 a.m. EST, stated that someone
identified as Bradley Hammermaster, and purported to be a University of
Washington astronomy instructor, had told KIRO Radio in Seattle that a
piece of meteor "about the size of a small car" had hit just before 3
a.m. PST.
NEW YORK Associated Press editors were forced to retract an earlier
report that a meteorite hit near Olympia, Wash., this morning after
discovering that a source, one Bradley Hammermaster, claiming to be an
astronomy professor, had perpetrated a hoax.
