DIVINATORY SYSTEMS!!!!!!!

Welcome Students, Please settle down and find yourself a pillow to sit on!!!!First off I would like to begin by welcoming you to this wonderful class. I hope in this class you will learn to open up and listen to your conscience. Inside most of you is a great seer of the future. I hope to mold you into great wizards/witches. I see great things for you all. Now for our lesson!!!!

DIVINATORY SYSTEMS

What exactly is divination? Well, truth is the definition is as imprecise as the type of magic it is. Let's see if we can figure this one out. Some people look at divination as a "gift", as something only special people can really do well. (My sister witch Sybill Trelawney is of that opinion...) I look at it more as a skill and an art. True, there are people who are more receptive, but most can learn at least for their own use, if not for others.

Divination can be learned, but reality is some people will have more talent for some types than others. I mean we all know Hermione Granger is very good at Arithmancy. (Shh, don't tell Professor Trelawney that Arithmancy is a form of divination...people usually call it "Numerology".) Harry Potter (although he hasn't realized it yet) is good at dream divination (called oneiromancy). That's his way of receiving messages. Ron Weasley - well, he'll find something eventually.

So don't despair if you have more trouble with some systems of divination than others. The fun is in trying them and seeing which ones you like and are good at! Just remember to relax...forcing it is going to get you nowhere.

There are many, many others, far too many to list. But I think you get a pretty good idea of how varied Divination can be.

Your Homework This Month1.Take 3 of the above Divinatory systems and telling me what they are.(hint: Use the internet to help you by using a search engine)

2. Take one of those 3 and write a SHORT report on the benefits of the system.
