WELCOME to The Stereo Stones and Beyond

In this section, The Rolling Stereo Stones and other Oddities. It became obvious, from past and present listening to mainly Classic Rock radio stations in my area, that I should create a separate reference page of what is available. I seldom ever hear any studio engineer or even a producer's input chat during early Takes; I guess The Rolling Stones were on their own when it came to sound quality. Hearing some portions of 1st Takes included in the "hit" versions, aids my thought that sometimes a lot of overdubbing took place and could be the ultimate reason why their Stereo catalog of songs is void. Most of these are songs I remember from radio, not necessarily US Top 40. Most all are from imported Audio CDs. Some songs are personally and heavily tweaked in sound. Be warned, the Year specified may inaccurate or may be the actual recording date; I'll refine later. I'll eventually migrate their other songs to this section. Some lyrics are risqué and daring, but that's The Rolling Stones.

She's A Rainbow (1968) - Stereo. First, the original Stereo mix. Second, I doubt I'll ever hear these Decca/London Record recordings remixed and remastered, so I attempted to correct the lopsided vocals...

Heart Of Stone (1965) - Stereo. Haven't seen as much controversy over Stereo, as I have seen with The Rolling Stones. The demand is VERY HIGH. From a (Promo Only) Import Audio CD...

Out Of Time (1966/1967) - Stereo. While the US issued LP version is always played, this appears to be a radio friendly 45 single (totally different) version...

Street Fighting Man/Did Everyone Pay Their Dues (1968) - Stereo. First, from acetate as a possible demo of this song before it was renamed. Second, the LP version...

Let's Spend The Night Together (1967) - Stereo. Suggestive lyrics hurt its position on the US record charts, but not the UK's. Jagger may have sang different lyrics on The Ed Sullivan Show. Also, an already overdubbed instrumental track...

Brown Sugar (1971) - Stereo. No doubt overdubbing took place, since the infamous "yeah!" ending also appears on early Takes...

Time Is On My Side (1964) - Stereo. It's become obvious to me, US radio stations play what's published in the US, not from abroad. From an imported CD - sound tweaked and denoised...

Time Is On My Side (1964) - Mono. Not sure what this is, but some songs were re-recorded, in Stereo, for FM Stereo airplay. Maybe this is one of the initial Monophonic versions...

Gimme Shelter (1969) - Stereo. Imported CD. Mary Clayton (who later did solo work, but no great success) helps with the vocals. Jimmy Miller (Producer) plays percussion. Sound tweaked. Non US Top 40, but plenty of airplay...

Midnight Rambler (1969) - Stereo. Not as airplay popular as their other songs, but enough for me to remember it. "Let It Bleed" album issued throughout the world, legitimate as well as bootleg releases. Sound tweaked...

(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction (1965) - Stereo. First US #1 hit. While I heard some Classic Rock radio stations play this, even in Stereo, the piano in the Right channel is new to me. This has a rather (uncommon) long verse at about 1 minute...

Mothers Little Helper (1966) - Stereo. I haven't heard this in some time. Sadly, from what I understand, their London Records recordings are being issued in monophonic and/or fake Stereo...
