Pro Tournament Series Piranha G3 Paintball Gun

REVIEW- We have used this gun for nearly a year and these are our results...

Good Things: I absolutely love this gun. I like it so much, I hate to put CO2 into it. I always use N2. I added a 14" Sniper Barrel and Rev Hopper to it too, but enough about that.

The new regulator from PMI has been significantly designed for use on the Piranha. It keeps a good pressure consistancy and good velocity cosistancy. At the maximum the velocity may jump about 5fps.

The gun has a new cutting edge look to it. It looks REALLY nice. I have the Blue/Black fade which is very cool, though the Green/Black fade may be better for woods games. The silver regulator adds to the look. The gun looks like what you would call a Piranha. It looks very intimidating.

The guns accuracy came so close to that of a WGP 2001 Auto-cocker, that there was no distinguishable difference. I have seen this on other reviews, and in real life. I can fire at about 75ft and hit the target dead center 25 times before one ball slightly veers off and hits high or low. The accuracy is awesome.

The gun has an icredibly light trigger, which gives a high rate of fire. The gun almost NEVER chops balls. The gun holds its accuracy in quick firing and snap shooting.

Bad Things: Well, there aren't many bad things about this gun, but no gun is perfect.

I rarely have problems with it, but the trigger frame sometimes messes up if you don't release it all the way forward.

The only other problem I've had was the gun wouldn't fire after being cocked due to the frame not catching the hammer. I fixed this by holding the bolt and pulling back on it, while holding the trigger down and released the bolt. I took out the Nitrogen and took the bolt apart and realigned it and it was fixed.

Never had another problem except when the gun was knocked off a shelf and the beaver tail broke. It did its job by saving the bolt from the fall though.

Conclusion: I would highly recommend this gun to everyone. Its good for begginers because of its nearly flawless performance and smooth operating. Its good for the pros too, because of its reliability and accuracy. (Not all pros use Cockers and Angels either. Some use Piranha VTL's.) But of all the Piranha's, this is the shining star!

Piranha Pro EXT G3

REVIEW- We have used this gun for a period of almost a year, and these are the results:

Good Things: The new regulator from PMI has been significantly designed for use on the Piranha. It keeps a good pressure consistancy and good velocity cosistancy. At the maximum the velocity may jump about 5fps.

It's undeniable. The gun looks great. The blue fade probrably looks better, but the black looks more intimidating and it is more camoflaged, like the green EXT. It really can turn heads at the playing field.

The flush cocking system makes the bolt easier to deal with in game play because it slides back into an uncocked position after being cocked and when fired, it kicks back only about a centimeter.

Bad Things: Now we move onto the bad things. The barrel on this gun really sucks. Even though it is clear, it fogs up with CO2, so what ifference does it make? The barrel may be accurate,-for being stock-but it breaks balls about 2 out of 50 times. On the field, a ball broke, and the paint was sqeegied out and the next shot was ANOTHER break. Be sure to get a new barrel.

Conclusion: This gun is very good, and meets the standards, provided a better barrel is put on. I would always reccomend a Piranha above a Spyder though. If you want the best barrel for this gun, and almost any gun, get a 12" Dye Boomstick.

The trigger frame is ok, but it feels like a toy because it is plastic. We would reccomend getting a an aluminum or Storm trigger frame.

PMI Piranha G2 VTL

REVIEW- This gun was used for a period of about 1-2years.

Good Things: This is an older design from PMI, however, it is one of the most popular. The gun looks nice, it's cheap, and it is very light wieght and compact.

The first time I used one of these guns, it felt like a relief from the trash we usually used. The gun was fairly accurate, lightwieght, and had a high rate of fire. It is a great gun for a begginer because of its easy and smooth operation. Its easy to use and operate, and held enemies for hours on the field. I would HIGHLY recommend this to begginers.

Bad Things: After 1 1/2 years, the gun seemed to begin to wear out. It began to leak air, and fire inconsitantly. The gun was rigged up for a game, then when taken apart, the O-rings were swollen to the size of rubber bands. The gun still doesn't work to this day, because no repairs were made. The hammer is worn down, and CO2 violently leaks out.

I believe, and have proved, that this is an ill-effect of CO2. A little Nitrogen could save the gun before it breaks, because C02 is unstable, and is a rough, freezing, air source. While in the cyclinder, it is in liquid form, which is why it is so heavy. If liquid enters the gun, it is ruined. This is what happened to it. CO2 is also cold, which causes pressure loss. I wouldn't like to use CO2 in any gun.

Conclusion: This was an all-around good gun for newbies and expirienced players alike. However, the gun doesn't last as long as your "expensive" ones. Nitrogen would be a better choice of gas for any gun, which could make this last longer.
