Last year the Minnesota Timberwolves went 51 and 31 in the regular season. They got the number four spot in the playoffs for the first time in team history. After getting a two games to one lead in the first round the Timberwolves went on to loss three in a row to the defending champion Lakers and were eliminated from the playoffs for the seventh straight year. This year might be different, the Timberwolves have gotten rid of Terrell Brandon, Joe Smith, Kendall Gill, Radoslav Nesterovic, Mark Jackson, and Mike Wilks. However the Timberwolves have added Latrell Sprewell, Micheal Olowokandi, Sam Cassell, Ervin Johnson, Kirk Penney, Mark Madsen, Fred Hoiberg, Jason Collier, and picked Ndudi Ebi in the first round draft.
