Special Times

Come lie with me and rest your head,
Stretch out here upon the bed,
Let me soothe your troubled mind,
Help you leave the hurt behind.

I'll sit right here, legs crossed, listening,
I'll smile at you, my eyes glistening,
We'll talk this way as we've done before,
Leave all our troubles lying on the floor.

You'll tease, I'll smile and try to tease back,
Then as usual I'll lose track,
You'll tie me up with words so slick,
That was always such a dirty trick.

I hope these memories make you smile,
If only for a little while,
For me they were such special times,
Sat talking as by the hours chimed.
