Out Of The Depths

From deep in the earth a flower emerges,
A wondrous beauty on the earth it purges,
Colours of petals it shows so fair,
A delicate flower so lovely and rare.

It peeps through the ground with a tentative show,
The birth of this flower ever so slow,
It needs the feeding rays of the sun,
Till far beyond its growing is done.

Leaves outstretched and stem so slim,
The gift of life this flower will win,
For as it grows and matures with time,
It will be a flower that is so fine.
