Finding The Light

She walks through the dark corridors of her mind,
It's the light that she's trying so hard to find,
Wandering, finding obstacles thrown in her path,
Hurdles made by her own heart's wrath.

She knows this journey has to be made,
Knows that her mind with light she must invade,
Until this act she carries out,
In her heart and mind she will herself doubt.

She closes her eyes and mentally hugs,
Mending herself though not with drugs,
For she's aware that deep down inside,
Her feelings from others she can't always hide.

Takes into her arms, her heart like a child,
And hugs it and holds it close deep inside,
She knows no one else can do this for her,
Only herself she can trust forever.

Slowly but surely the light it appears,
Warming her heart and pushing away fears,
From this day onward she knows in her mind,
Her fragile heart from others she'll hide.
