A Wrambling Wreck

Georgia Tech: Home of the Yellow Jackets

I'm a Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech, and a hell of an Engineer A Helluva, helluva, helluva, helluva, helluva Engineer Like all the jolly good fellows, I drink my whiskey clear. I'm a Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech and a hell of an Engineer

Oh, if I had a daughter, sir, I'd dress her in white and gold, And put her on the campus To cheer the brave and bold. But if I had a son, sir, I'll tell you what he'd do-- He'd yell: 'TO HELL WITH GEORGIA!' Like his daddy used to do.

Oh, I wish I had a barrel of rum, and Sugar three thousand pounds A college bell to put it in, And a clapper to stir it round. I'd drink to all the good fellows, who come from far and near. I'm a Ramblin', Gamblin', HELL OF AN ENGINEER!

THE RAMBLIN' WRECK FIGHT SONG

The Georgia Tech Fight Song is perhaps the most widely known song associated with a school. The song began in 1885 when majority of the student body traveled to Athens to watch Tech defeat Georgia's baseball team. The tradition was established in the early 1900's. Bandmaster, Frank Roman, changed some things in the song and how he left it is how we know it today.

To the Hell with Georgia

Georgia Tech is where true Georgians go. UGA is so overrated! It's good to have a school where you actually learn and it doesnt give college students a bad rapp!

I think therefore I am NOT a bulldog

THE RAMBLIN' WRECK CAR

On September 30, 1961, the car was unveiled to a crowd of 43,501. Tech's opponent was Rice. the Wreck has led the football team onto the field every home game since then. The vehicle is a restored 1930 Model A Ford Sport Coupe and has been a hit ever since its unveiling. At first different fraternities took turns driving the car, however now as we all know the Ramblin' Reck Club is responsible for driving and maintaining the car.

THE YELLOW JACKET

The first reference of this dates back to 1905 when Tech students were referred to as "yellow jackets" in the Atlanta Constitution. The reason being that supporters of Tech during this time wore yellow coats and jackets. Then from this our actual mascot, Buzz, originated. Some other nicknames associated with Tech at one time or another are: Engineers, the Techs, the Blacksmiths, and the Golden Tornado.
