About the name:
Syzygy is best described as the alignment of the sun, the earth, and the moon. Metaphorically speaking, we relate the sun to the Son of God. We as Christians represent the moon because we reflect the light of the Son back to the rest of the world, which we label as the earth (surprise!). It is when we are in alignment with Christ that we are unified in spirit with fellow believers and with the world around us.
