This is a word for word dictation straight from my voice recorder

Its basically in point form at the moment, bits and pieces all over the place

(Some of it’s a bit wishy washy because I the voice recorder was a bit screwy and I couldn’t make out wholes minutes worth of stuff, so I just remembered what I could and whacked it in, so some things are doubled up.)

Im going to write it up into a proper essay and submit it

You can’t possibly deny, that religion brings real, tangible effects to all believers

Believing in Jesus Christ, gives people purpose, a meaning to their life

Something that people that people have, a void, a hole, in their life, that they can’t fill with money, mobile phones, stupid crap etc, they can fill through Jesus Christ, in an instant, by simply believing

Its incredibly empowering

It gives people direction, purpose

It transforms people’s lives, into a journey, at the end, you get to an incredible destination

Some people do not believe, but they can not possible deny the real benefits which a belief in Jesus Christ brings

There are thousands and thousands, of stories, of people who have turned their life around, simply though a belief, simply through prayer and gratitude, humility, sincerity, honesty, all the things that the bible teaches

No matter how bad your life is, if you have a belief in Jesus Christ, it seems to nullify ever other problem in the world, nothing else matters, because you are safe. Who you are, that special little person, is not going to die. Is not going to shrivel away.

You are protected

You feel like that, and like no matter how bad this world gets you will always have that soft blanket to fall on,

When people believe it’s an incredible feeling, it totally overwhelms you leaving absolutely no doubt in your mind that there could possibly be anything else

It seems so real

And there simply is no explanation

Prayer feels good, it feels satisfying

Afterwards you feel like you have had some sort of connection

Afterwards you feel at peace

Repentance, afterwards you feel no anxiety, no stress, no heavy weight on your shoulders. The burden is lifted

Like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders, like Jesus gives you permission to let go of those worries, let go of those fears

A belief in Jesus Christ makes that ok

It’s even more incredible when you share your experiences, share the way you feel, about god, share that with other people

How it has impacted your life, gain other people’s perspective, it just reinforces the fact that it feels so right

All those things which happen in life, those little things, you spilt some milk, you lost your job, whatever. They become so pathetically trivial. They simply don’t matter very much anymore. Even the bigger things, even things which might seem very ‘big’ in an earthly sense, simply don’t matter very much.

When you have someone who will love you, love you unconditionally, no matter what. Someone who will make you feel like a special, worthwhile, precious human being. Someone who makes you feel that way every day.

These are very powerful human needs, to feel accepted, loved, special. Jesus can make you feel all those things, and forever give you a sense of those feelings.. or something

Relationships come and go, lovers, boyfriends, wives, they can come and go. Friends and family members can move away to another place or you can drift apart. They can even die, forever changing what you can experience with them

But JC, he doesn’t change, he won’t be going anywhere, ever.

He is strong, he is loving, he is forgiving, he is eternal.

Perhaps the most beautiful, most important thing which Jesus brings, is the solution to one of mans biggest problems, trying to find purpose, meaning and direction in life. Trying to gain a successful, fulfilling and satisfying life.

One of the most important and special things which Jesus can do, and does, in people’s lives, is giving meaning, giving direction

Most people do not know what to do with their sacred, limited life

You know, get a job, house, all those things. And they don’t really provide a lot of fulfilment for a lot of people. And there’s rough guidelines for living, but they’re just guidelines. Most people are lost, most people are scared, not happy and not fulfilled

Most people do not know what to do with their life, how to get these feelings that they want With Jesus, you have the answer

With Jesus, you always have someone to hold your hand All those trivial little things afsasdfafsd give you the promise of heaven, of eternal time in heaven. Heaven is whatever you imagine it to be, everyone has different perceptions

Structure etc, incredible emotions.. something something

He gives you a set of rules to live by, and not just a set of empty codes and rules and laws, like what the government and society impose on you

It’s just a set of guidelines that make sense, and a set of guidelines to which you have an incredible emotional attachment

Imagine if Brad Pitt, or Pamela Anderson, comes down and says ‘these are some guidelines that you should live by’ you are going to have a greater movement, a greater emotional attachment to the guidelines deep down inside,

Than some hollow laws forced by some policeman and a guy with a little hammer in a courtroom.

It just adds to the meaning and fulfilment and purpose that it brings

Everyone has heard of drug dealers, or drug users, people whose lives are down the drain, who were losing it, whose lives were not going where they wanted. They didn’t have control, it was out of control

Spinning down in a vicious circle, getting worse and worse

And then they found Jesus, and all the things I just described, they just kicked in

They were powerful enough to change those people’s lives

Real results, not some bullshit, real fucking results that people get all over the world.

Therapy, help from friends, family support, guidance, drug rehab, AA, all these sophisticated, expensive, time consuming, modern things could not change these peoples lives around.

But the bible and a belief in Jesus Christ, have done just that, when nothing else would work, that’s how powerful it is.

For a lot of people, having that relationship, with Jesus Christ, is one of the most important things in their life

It provides the most happiness

People move on, move away, they die, whatever

The relationship and bond that people share with Jesus, that is eternal

That doesn’t go away, it’s not wavering, it’s always there, you always feel that

Deep down in your heart, you know, that Jesus is good, that he will take you, give you strength Make you and your life, special

You truly feel that, that connection

It impacts everything in your life

Life is in a totally different frame for believers than it is for non believers

Non believers, are on a journey that will end, at least they believe, on a compost heap

Believers are on a journey to a beautiful place

Its like if you can imagine going on a journey, going through every day struggles, pain/pleasure all those things, everyday life and doing that for 80 years

Now if at the end of those 80 years, if what you have to look forward to, is being earthworm food, that’s is going to shape your reality in a totally different way than if you feel life as being an adventure, that ends… (actually) that doesn’t end. That life is a journey, that continues, and that this first part on earth is just a small step, of this beautiful thing in your life that will end up absolutely magical, that feeling of joy and excitement, that everyone has at some point, that’s what you associate to heaven, that’s what you think it will be like in heaven And deep down inside in your heart, you just know, that afterwards, once this journey is complete, the real adventure will begin

It’s like if you are going on a 500km road trip, you have a beautiful island paradise to look forward to, with girls or guys, or whatever to look forward to at the end of that. And the whole beautiful dream of, you know, spending a weekend with your friends or whatever, then it makes the whole trip a lot more fun, a lot more light hearted

Than it is if that road trip ends with nothing, that it’s just a boring, pitiful thingo

But it’s something, and that’s the real result that you see (ish)
