Thank you to all who came out to my show! I had a lot of fun, and I hope you all did too. You can read about all that stuff at: http://www.persuasion.tk
After the show, I got to spend time with friends who I haven't seen in some time. Eddie, Rob, Richard, Earl, etc. I'm stoked about everything that happend, and now my band has it's foot in the door, because we have bands like Dexter Danger and Singlehanded backing us, and they've been out for awhile.
So, the show was Friday... Saturday, ohhh fuckin' Saturday. I spent basically the whole day at a job orintation. Even though I worked for the company last year, I still had to attend. While there, I didn't learn anything, and I spend the majority of the time drawing all over the employee manual. I was expecting for them to provide us with lunch like last time, but the cheap bastards made us go out on our own, and get our own food. Luckly I had a few bucks on me (I've been really broke these past weeks). I also was accompanied by a guy name Andrew, who was into funk/metal. He's 20, pretty rad guy. He's tryin' to get his life straight right now, because he used to do drugs, and a lot of bad stuff, which caused him to have warrents and thingies like that. I bought him a cup of coffe, and we talked and laughed about the idea of "punk" and what it is today. On the way back to work, we talked about Metallica (I was a big fan) and Red Hot Chili Peppers. We got back into the orintation room, but were kicked out because we were like 10 minutes early, so we went to the employee break room/balcony, and he sat, smoked, and told me all about acid.
He told me a story about how he took 50 hits of acid because the cops had stopped him, but before they did, he knew they were comming for him, so, he took the 50 hits all at once. I think it was 4 viles of acid he swallowed. (if you have 4, you can be arrested for attempted murder) .. he went to class, and started to trip reaaaaally hard. His teacher in the class (who he did drugs with) knew he was trippin. He said the walls started to melt, things shapped, changed colors, the dots on the ceiling became alient scripture, and he had to decode it. Eventually, he talked with an old man on a hill, and he told him the meaning of life. Later on, Andrew was committed. He was told that he spend a lot of time on the floor in his mental case room, saying he was looking for a key, which, ended up being the "key to life" or something. He then remembers being asked if he was "ready to go back"
He wasn't litterally asked, but he just remembers it being asked in his head. He said yes, and eventually, he slipped back into reality, and was released later on. After all that, we went back to the orintation.
Anyway, I filled out paper work, got the job, and they want me to call today before 12PM. I'll call at 11:30AM, just so they don't try to pull me in at like 9am or something. But later that night, Sabrina and I were at Manny's house, hangin' around. His mom was throwing a small family party, but I was there because Sean was there too, and so of course, the 3 of us ended up making music together, even though we were just fucking around. Then Sunday (it's still today for me) I drove Manny to a shoe store so he could pick up a new pair of black converse. Sabrina saw a pair of purple converse, which looked really good on her.
So, Manny buys his shoes, and then we headed out for Jack In The Box. On the way, we get pulled over by a cop. I was so fucking nervous, because it was my first time. The cop asked me "Do you know why I pulled you over?" I told him no. He then asked how old I was, I told him 18. He then asked Manny, and he said 17. The cop then asked him "Why are you smoking?" (Manny was smoking a cigerette before we got pulled over) Manny told the cop he wasn't smoking, which pissed the cop off, he claimed he hated liars. He then asked Sabrina her age, and checked her bag. He must have asked me like 3-4 times if I had any weed on me. I told him no (because I didn't.. that stuff's bad for you). So, it all came down to the cop asking me "Do you want to get arrested for contributing to a minor" (he was asking me if I bought the cigerettes for Manny) I told him no, they weren't mine, even though I did buy them for him on Saturday. The end result was they had Manny break all his smokes, and he gave me my license back, and he told me to get my windshild fixed (it has a long crack in it) and then told me to have a good day. That was that... off to Jack In The Box.
We ordered 2 waters, 2 orders of the 2 tacos for 99 cents. When we got to the window, there was a teenaged girl who was collecting the money. I smiled at her just to be nice, and after that, Manny told me she kept looking at me, and it was obvious that she might have had a thing for me. From what I saw, she was pretty (I think, I didn't stare) but for fucks sake, Sabrina was right next to me. I was wondering if she was gunna get in the girls face, but, things didn't boil down to it. So, while at the window, Manny orders another 2 tacos. When we drive off, Manny's like "Whoaa, we got 3 extra chicken sandwitches. She must have really liked you Torrey!" It was too perfect, 3 extra items, for us 3. We didn't even pay for them, they were just handed to us. Either the chick working the window planned it, she was too love struck to realize what she did, or she was just dumb. Whatever it was, we got chicken sandwitches!! hahah!
Anyway, this update took me about 40 minutes, and.. well, not much else has happend since the pull over/jack in the box incident. Sorry if this was TOO long for some people.. but eh, I'm making up for not updating as often! Anyway, until then!

I'm pretty sleepy. I haven't slept all morning. I spent it making Persuasion Outlines webpage. Go check it out: www.persuasion.tk
It's got everything it needs. Band Info (most of it), News, Shows, Links, Contact, Pictures (none yet), Music spot (none yet), guestbook, MAILING LIST... which EVERYONE needs to go to the site, and join the mailing list. It's on the front page. The guestbook is in the news section... so go sign that too!!
Uhhh, oh yeah, I added the song of the moment. It's "Lower" by NOFX. It's not the song of THE moment, but it's one I liked, an decided to put up here.
Oh yeah, so, I went into the UPS thing today (after almost being late). I took a tour of the place with like 20 other people. Looks like a fun job. You're inside of a truck, loading, and unloading packages. Anyway, so on the paper, I put Van Nuys from 4am-7am (thats what they had open, without getting in the way of band practice. My 2nd choice was Slymar from like.. 11am-4pm I think. Something about working from 4am-7am is pretty cool.
Umm, Im waiting for them to call. Should be in a week.
So the show is this friday. I'm pretty excited. I hope everyone that I told about it, can make it. It would be great to see all of my people together in one room, seeing me play. Yup! Anyway, go check out the bands site!!!!!

What's new? Nothing....
BESIDES THE FACT THAT MY SHOW IS THIS FRIDAY!!!!!
Did you really think I wouldn't headline this update without me reminding you all for thr 400th time ... that I have a show this friday at the Cobalt Cafe? Oh.. WELL I DO!!!!! SO GO!!!!!
So, I'm running on about.. 3 hours of sleep right now. For some reason I couldn't sleep very well last night. I came up with something last night that I'd like to continue working on, but the style of the song needs a lot of work. It's a bit too.. not my style. It's deffenatly got a more deeper tone, but still not ... poppy enough.
So, tomorrow, I'll be going to the UPS in Silmar about a job opportunity. For those who didn't know, UPS pays $8.50 an hour, Monday-Friday. No weekends. How rad is that? The only problem, is that the shift that is available during reasonable hours is from like
6PM - 10PM. We have band practice Friday's from 5PM-9PM. That sucks! From what I was told by someone who works there.. you have to work the 4 hours that are set. If need be, I'll just try to pull off the 3am - 7am.. or something. That should be fun. I think. I know, you're probably thinking, "why not practice on Saturday, or Sunday?" Because, most likely, Sean won't be able to, due to random school work, or band compititions at his school. Bummer. I'll have to try to work something out.
Well, I gotta drive my mom to her doctor's appointment. Did I say drive? Yes, I did. Not to brag, but things are so much easier. Getting places is no big deal anymore. I'm sure this is too good to be true, and eventually, I'll wreak the car. Anyway, thanks for reading...... AND GO TO MY SHOW!!!.. I'll give free hugs and lap dances!!.. well, wait, maybe I won't.

I PASSED MY TEST..... AND IM DRIVING NOW!
Hiya. Yeah, it finally happend! I'm now a licensed driver, and Im now driving myself around. It's still pretty weird.. it hasn't like, hit me yet. It actually seems kind of unreal. Like, this is all fake, and I'll wake up one morning wondering where my car went, and realize it was all a dream. But, it's not, so anyway.
I'll try to explain what's been happening quickly, due to complaining people that my updates are TOO long :)
So, 2nd test, I ended up getting the guy I was orginally suppose to get my first test. Unfortunatly, the car had a defect, so I couldn't take the test the first time, and when I came back, I had some dike chick, it sucked. She failed me.
But, now I had the nice man who looked like an older Michael McDonald (The guy from MADTV). Anyway, while taking my test, the cell phone that was in the car continually kept going off. I'm not bullshitting... I mean it just kept ringing, and ringing. I was able to answer it with my finger, but hang it back up. After the 3rd time of doing this, you'd think the person would have gotten the idea? Nope. It kept on. My instructor told me that if I wanted, to just turn it off. I didn't know how to. It kept ringing. It sucked. I ended up passing my drive test... 13 out of 15. Close call. I can drive too slow (I solved that one already) and I don't look right/left when passing intersections (hard to do when you're goin like 35/40mph).
After my test, I was dropped off at my good friends house. We kicked back, he played guitar for me. He's rad at it too. We then ate at In N Out, and he dropped me off at Birmingham High School. I went to Mr D's class (It was lunch time, so his class was pretty empty except for a couple nerds playing some game on the wall). So, I filled out some information about myself, signed the title, paid him, and had my friend Josh take Sabrina and I out to Hollywood, to take care of insurance. That took an hour. Sitting there filling out paper work. Yuk. Anyway, once I was all done, we headed back to BHS, to pick up my car. For those who want to know what it looks like.. it's a 1984 Chevy Cavalier. Nothing special about it.. it's like a brown rust color, there's a long crack in the windsheild, the passenger window doesn't roll down, it makes funny noises when it's cold.. you know, common problems a 19 year old car would have. So, yeah, I picked up the car, and drove Mr. D home, then took Sabrina and I home.
Stopped at Sean's house to show him my car, wasn't there. So I picked up my guitar amplifier (thing is huge) it failed at it's job of fitting in the trunk. Fuck, it barely fits in the backseat. So, fortunatly, I can get me, and my equipment to shows, but there's only room for 1 person.. and that's the passenger seat. The back seat will be used by my 4x12 cab.
So, yeah, was chillin' and stuff. Then night driving came along. I got to see what it's like to fill the car with gas (after watching Sabrina spill it everywhere) and fill the tires with air. Scary ass gas place...
Uh, oh yeah, I went to Albertson's, but accidently left my lights on. THAT'S OKAY, cause I was only in there for 5 minutes, and now I don't have that problem of leaving them on, cause I remind myself to turn them off.
Took the freeway to get Sabrina home, which, was kind of scary, because that car has to really push to get to 65.. LOL
I took Victory all the way back home.
This morning, I drove my brother to his friends house, so they can walk to school together. Now I'm sitting here. I've still got some work to do.. like call the DMV and shedual an appointment to legally get the car registered to my name. Umm... yeah, it's okay to still sign my guestbook. Thats all for now!
