Phyllis Wells

I am currently a Junior at the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College at Florida Atlantic University.  I am home for the summer and taking classes at Pensacola Junior College.  Below I have listed my accomplishments and qualifications.  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.  Thank you for your time and consideration.

Objective

To receive my Baccalaureate Degree in Biology from the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College at Florida Atlantic University and continue my education until I receive a Doctorate in Marine Biology.  I am planning to spend next year studying in France.  I am considering becoming a Rhodes Scholar and completing my graduate studies at Oxford.

Activities

Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College at Florida Atlantic University Relay for Life team:  co-captain, 4-month commitment to leadership and planning, eighteen hours at Relay, January 2002-April 2002.

Classical Dance Training: Ballet-3 hours per week- and Jazz-1 1/2 Hours per week August 1996-May 2001.

Tate Outdoor Adventures Club (School Environmental Club): Founding member, President, 3 hours per week (meeting and planning, more for weekend trip/activity) August 1999-May 2001.

French Club: member, one meeting per month, more hours depending on activity, August 1999-May 2001. Tate Inter-Club Council: TOAC Representative, one meeting per month.

Tate SAB (Senior Advisory Board): member, one or two meetings per month, more hours depending on activity (such as Homecoming float building, Fall Festival, etc.).

Writing Club: member, one 2 hour meeting per week, August 1997-May 1998.

Tate Musicals: 3 hour rehearsals on weekdays from November to February, last week 8-hour rehearsals, Bye Bye Birdie 1997/1998, Lil’ Abner 1998/1999.

All County Chorus: 3 1/2 hour meetings once per week, day of concert 8 hours September-October 1998.

FSPA (Florida Scholastic Press Association): TV Productions class every other day, one 7 hour seminar, August 1998-May 1999.

People to People Student Ambassador Program: Student Ambassador, one 3 hour meeting per month, trip to Great Britain in June-July 2001.

Drama Club: member, one meeting per month, more hours for activities such as decorating scenery for musical, August 1997-May 1998.
