Title: Gigantis the fire monster
AKA: Gojira no Gyakushu (Godzilla's Counterattack) or Godzilla Raids Again (name of the second American release)
Characters: Godzilla (did you expect any less) Anguillus, and a bunch of goofy American scientist
Summery: Ok I must confess something..... I haven't seen this movie, but ill give you the plot summery as I have been lead to believe. In 1955 Japan released a movie called "Gojira no Gyakushu" it was about how two monsters, Godzilla and Anguillus, busting each other up old school in down town ___________ (fill in the blank with which ever Japanese city it was) Any way this one is kind of an odd movie in my opinion cause in every other movie Anguillus is like Godzilla's best bud, in "Godzilla Vs Meckagodzilla" everyone is amazed when Anguillus attacks Godzilla, just proving how close these to monster pals are. Any way that's pretty much the whole point of the Japanese version.
In the American version the main character (GODZILLA!!!) has had his name changed to Gigantis!!! Several of the Japanese scenes have been deleted to make room for scenes with American scientist talking about how "Gigantis" and Anguillus are members of an ancient race of fire monsters that can hibernate for centuries but have recently been awakened by atomic testing. dang nuclear testing. Any way from what I understand its a really good movie and from pictures I have seen Godzilla.... er I mean Gigantis looks pretty cool in this one, he doesn't have the "chubby" appearance of some of the other movies. Now as for the Characters, Angullis is one of My personal favorites, he's like a big spiny porcupine. He's just a cool monster, strong too. he has no beam weapons but he kicks monsters that do around like rag dolls. Godzilla still takes him out to the woodshed though
Moral of the story: I actually don't know cause I haven't seen it and cant find it anywhere!!!
