Stanley woke around seven O'clock the next morning. His Spider-Man pajamas had dried up, but they still had a piss stain running down the inner sides of his legs. However, the fact of this did not bother Stanley. He slide out from underneath the Power Rangers bed covers and walked out of his small room that was painted with a pastel blue color. This was a room that was full of childhood pleasures: a closet full of action figures, each one a prize for being good on those long days shopping with Mommy. A desk that was filled with coloring books, collectable cards, Hot Wheels cars, that had their share of crashes in this bedroom, and his favorite book that his mommy had read to him on some many occasions, Stanley's Adventure. In the corner of his room was his miniture basketball hoop, he and his dad had several games on Stanley's basketball court.
As he left the room, the door to his room, which had a wooden sign that read STANLEY'S ROOM, shut slowly without any contact with Stanley. When the door was closed and Stanley gone from the room, it began to cool down in there from it's augmented tempeture of ninty-four degrees.
Stanley walked past the bathroom on the right side of the hall. In side was his T-Rex toothbrush, and Rugrats towels. The next door, which was on the left, lead to his parents room. The was closed from the previous night. Stanley reached up to the brass door handle with his young unworked hands and grabbed hold of the handle. He pulled down the door handle. The door began to open slowly and Stanley glanced into the room, making sure his parents were inside the room.
Tessa and Maxwell were laying in their queen sized bed, they rested under black sheets and blankets. The room had a mixed aroma of perfume and text books. Their clothes were laying on the ground and ontop of their modern looking furniture.
Tessa's hair was a bit mangled but the look was of a beautiful, youthful women. She had no make-up on, which made her appear very pure and innocous. Maxwell slept fast asleep to the right of Tessa. His snoring no longer effected Tessa's sleep, even though it had gotten extremly nerve racking, she still managed. His face had grown stubbled over night and his black hair was more then a mess.
Stanley stepped into the room and walked ever so quietly up to the foot of the bed. Stanley had a conscious but blank stare in his eyes. He had control of his body and mind, yet he was being guided by something else, something he didn't like. Stanley felt somewhat confused, but a voice in his head was keeping him on track. The voice told him to keep going.
His whole body was hot and a sweat had broken out on the back of his neck and forhead. Stanley felt cool though, like there was a window open somewhere in the house and a wind had blown in from outside. It felt like a walk in the park.
At the foot of the bed Stanley began talking to his parents. "I want to go to work with you Daddy. Let me go to work with you Daddy. I am going to go to work with you Daddy. Mommy, make Daddy take me to work today." Stanley's forhead was srunching up between his eyebrows. His little harmless fist were now balled up in a form ment to hurt.
His parents woke up slowly, first Tessa than Maxwell. "Hi Stanley. Why aren't you watching cartoons?" Cartoons was Stanley's first priority on weekdays.
Stanley's face was now back to normal and the sweat on him dried immediatly. In his right hand a black panda bear appeared, it's big, black eyes with white circles around them looked at Maxwell. Maxwell felt the stare and had a feeling of fear. He got rid of the thought instantly, 'What are you looken at Buddy?' he thought instead.
"I want go to work with Daddy today." There was a queer aspect of this question. He had never shown any intrest in his father's job. And his voice was so kind and at the same time it was a command being given to them.
"Sure Stan, that would be great." 'Especially today. He'll see how much people will look up to me today at the purchase of the blueprints.' "I mean if that's ok with Mommy."
"Ok." Tessa was a little confused at what was happening. She wasn't sure why she arreged with Maxwell, she wasn't sure what Stanley had said. She ok'ed it anyways, she had a feeling that she had to.
Stanley turned around and walked out of the bedroom and proceded into the living room. He sat down on the couch and flicked on the t.v. The volume went down and the station went onto CNN. The man on the screen was talking about the European North-American War. Stanley did not comprehend what the man with grey hair, black suit, and blue and grey checked shirt was talking about. But he watched with rapt attention.
In the bedroom of Tessa and Maxwell the two stared at each other. "That was odd", Tessa said bleakly. She thought about the panda bear Stanley was holding and tried to think back to when she had gotten it for him. The memory never came though. 'The panda was never really there, was it?'
"I'm just happy he wants to be there at the plant today. It's gonna be a good day, I can feel it."
They both layed back in bed for a half hour and at seven-thirty Maxwell got up and got ready. Tessa got Stanley ready in the meantime. The two boys left ten after eight with two bagged lunchs that Tessa had made. They drove out in the families newly purchased Lexus into the country where the plant was located. They arrived at eight-twenty. Yes Tessa, this was an eminent day in the making.
