Next Sony in my popular TC-model has many similarity
as TC-366, 4-track stereo, 3 speeds and slanted cabinet.
Same frequency response, flutter and wow.
Also signal to noise ratio (52dB) as TC-366.


  • A few changes were made, 4 more transistors,
different heads F&F (ferrite & ferrite)=

  • Extended frequency response with high-bias tape.
Higher reliability..1/200 the wear of earlier models.
Mirror smooth surface contact with the tape.

  • The symbol F&F means the core material plus guard portion,
of the heads are all ferrite.
This prevents uneven head wear and maintains,
a precisely parallel head gap for a more extended period.


  • Slight wider + taller cabinet.


  • Built in reel lock-downs instead for rubber-holders.


  • Mic attenuation was added instead for noise-suppress option.


  • Line output adjustment control on 2 of the 6 different 
models made between 1972 and 1975.
    

    



    

  • 7-1/2 and 3-3/4 are ideal for recording music
when best sound is desired.

  • 1-7/8 is ideal for speech.

  • Sound on Sound and Echo recording can be done.
