Here is one of the most popular decks I like.
Have restored many GX-4000D and people
 has been very satisfied what this deck can do.
Myself got 2 in my collection, one silver and one black.
 Both are the same inside.
 Some people like the silver look compared with the 
 black version, but I think both are gorgeous units.
There was also a third model with built in dolby
 GX-4000 DB.


Monitor switch: Tape/Source. 

Sound on Sound. 

Equalizer switch for both 3-3/4 and 7-1/2 speed. 

Tape selector switch: 
Set to wide range or low noise position 
according what tape is being used.



4-track, 2 channel stereo/mono system.

(3)Heads = Erase, Rec, Play.
 

Reel capacity: Up to 7 inch reel-size.

Tape Speed: 3-3/4 and 7-1/2.

This model use a speed-sleeve, 
    when 7-1/2 speed is wanted. 
A storage post behind the headcover 
holds the sleeve when not in use.





Wow and Flutter: Less than 0,08% WRMS.

Frequency Response: 30Hz to 24,000 Hz (+-3dB at 7-1/2.

30Hz to 16,000Hz(+-3dB at 3-3/4.

Distortion: Less than 1% (1,000 Hz "0" VU.

Beltdriven counter.

Automatic shutoff system when tape is ending
 the capstan motor shuts off with a micro switch
 located behind the faceplate.




When speed sleeve is mounted it makes the speed raise up to 7-1/2 instead for 3-3/4.
