Supplier of Litz Wire and Enameled Copper Magnet Wire
I have moved the Enameled Copper Magnet Wire and PVC Insulated Hookup wire to a separate page and dedicate this page just to Litz Wire you can find it here or from the side bar.
Enameled Copper Wire and PVC Hookup Wire Supplier
I also sell Silver Plated Kynar Wire Here
I also have some PVC Insulated Hook Up Wire.
Just arrived Unique Special Blend Litz Wire see details below.

I now accept all Major Credit Cards.
I use PayPal to process the payment.
Go to my Home Page for Shipping Charges.
I no longer ship Internationally, I only ship to USA addresses.
Except for a Business or Company with a UPS, FedEx or DHL account. Shipped using there account number. They must take full responsibility for the delivery from there carrier and pay all duties, customs taxes or other expenses involved.
We have a very large selection of Litz Wire For Sale. All sizes of the Litz Wire listed are in stock
Litz Wire applications include Crystal Radio Coils and Loop Antennas also can be used for other purposes like Tesla Coils, Inductors, Tonearms and Transformer Windings.
I have a large supply and variety of Litz Wire for sale all sizes listed are in stock and ready to be sold. Unlike some Litz Wire Suppliers that sell one or two sizes I have purchased a variety of different sizes in the 20, 26, 28, 34, 36, 38, 40, 41, 44 and 46 AWG range. But no matter how many sizes I stock there will some I do not. However if your application calls 185/46 Litz Wire you can always go up or down a notch and use the 175/46 or 220/46 or if you need 165/46 then 175/46 may work in your application as well.
Litz wire is specified like this, the first number is number of strands, the number after the "/" is the AWG wire gauge size. So 175/46 for instance is 175 strands of number 46 AWG gauge wires. The approximate diameter in the chart is the over all diameter of the entire bundle of wires including the nylon or silk serving and is taken from a data sheet not actual measurement.
Each and every copper wire in all the Litz wire is Enameled coated. So each strand acts like an individual wire conductor.
Make sure you know what you are buying, there are no returns or refunds on wire sales, all sales are final. Items that are returned because they are un-deliverable, unclaimed, refused and wrong address etc. can be resent with the re-payment of shipping. For instance you order 10 foot 660/46 and the item is returned, I have no use and most likely will not get another order for just 10 foot. So your only recourse is have the item resent, no refunds will be given.
For volume users I have whole full spools of most sizes in stock that can be quoted based on the weight, most in stock full spools are from around 2 to 8 pounds.
If you need a special size of Litz Wire I can give a quote from the supplier.
It usually takes around 4-6 weeks for a special order delivery. Payment must
be paid in advance, and is none refundable. Minimum quote for any size is 10Kg
(22 pounds) and manufacturer will supply the wire within + or - 10% of the
purchased weight. So you may get a little more or a little less with a
special order.
Low price Litz Wire is manufactured by Xizi unless noted and is of very good quality, it has been compared to most major manufacturers by others an is found to be equal to or some say better than any of them the only big difference is the price.
All of the Xizi Litz Wire from 66 strands and up is Type 2, all below 66 strands are Type 1 and is of the easy to solder type. Can be soldered with a very hot soldering iron. The wire is rated 400 volts, 155 degree centigrade temperature rating and has a single serving of nylon or silk.
I have no way to test the "Q" of the wire so I sent some out and had it tested here is the results for the 660/44 Litz Wire.
Here are his specifications on the coil and the "Q" results tested with a HP 4342 Q meter :
Some side by side comparisons with KL and more "Q" measurments at very bottom of page.
42 turns on a styrene 4.5" coil form--with 10" pigtails,
that's about 51.1 feet of wire (the coil measured 172 uH):
200Khz --- 680 Q
300Khz ---- 890 Q
400Khz --- 1050 Q
500Khz --- 1160 Q
600Khz --- 1268 Q
700Khz --- 1270 Q
800Khz --- 1240 Q
900Khz --- 1200 Q
1200Khz --- 1030 Q
1400Khz --- 905 Q
1600Khz --- 770 Q
1700Khz --- 683 Q
This gives a good idea of the quality of the wire in general.
Another user of my Litz Wire stated that it winds very well and solders easily. The Litz Wire can be soldered with a soldering iron. He tested the "Q" of the 100/46 Litz Wire he purchased with a TS-617C/U Q-Meter it has a maximum range of 750 and the "Q" was higher than the meter range of 750. I do not know the test parameters however again just showing the Litz Wire is of good quality the low price does not mean low quality.
All the information was supplied free by users and they were not paid for there "Q" results.
All the Litz Wire specifications below are approximate taken from a manufacturers data sheet and not actual measurement.

Unique High "Q" Special Blend Litz Wire For Better Sensitivity And Selectivity Than Standard Litz Wire Across The Entire AM Radio Band.
I had this litz wire specially made for me. It is blend of both 46awg and 44awg wires in one bundle. So since my 175/46 is one of my most popular sizes I ordered some 180/46-44 half 46awg and half 44awg. Since 44 awg gives a high "Q" for the lower to mid AM Radio band and 46awg favors the mid to high end this new wire should give high "Q" values over all of the AM Radio band. See the Recommended frequencies pdf file above. So if you can not decided on 44awg or 46awg for your application, ask yourself do I want to favor the lower AM bands or higher AM bands? If you want to cover all of the AM radio band then why not use a wire to completely cover the entire AM radio band. This wire will be more consistent in covering the full AM radio band whether you are making a Litz wire loop antenna or a Litz wire crystal radio coil or a high "Q" coil for a TRF (Tuned Radio Frequency) receiver like the MK484 or TA7642 type radio.
I am sure there will be copy cats ounce this new wire catches on however I am the first to stock, offer and sell it as a wire to completely cover and give a more consistent "Q" for the entire AM radio band.
Special Blend 180/46-44 Litz Wire is Approximately .034 in diameter
The wire is clear Nylon Served ( Pinkish Color ).

The term Litz wire is derived from the German word
litzendraht meaning woven wire. Generally defined, it is a wire constructed
of individual film insulated wires bunched or braided together in a uniform
pattern of twists and length of lay.
The multi-strand configuration minimizes the power losses otherwise
encountered in a solid conductor due to the "skin effect", or the tendency
of radio frequency current to be concentrated at the surface of the
conductor.
In order to counteract this effect, it is necessary to increase the amount
of surface area without appreciably increasing the size of the conductor. It
is also essential to position each individual strand in the Litz
construction in a uniform pattern moving from the center to the outside and
back in a given length.
Even properly constructed Litz wires will exhibit some skin effect due to
the limitations of stranding. Wires intended for higher frequency ranges
require more strands of a finer gauge size than Litz wires of equal cross
sectional area but composed of fewer and larger strands.
Polyurethane is the film most often used for insulating individual strands
because of its low electrical losses and its solderability
Litz wire conductors are beneficial for reducing A.C. losses in high frequency windings. The first consideration in any design regarding Litz magnet wire is the operating frequency. The operating frequency not only influences the actual construction details of the copper magnet wire, but is also used to determine the individual Litz wire gauge.
Typically, the design engineer requiring the use of Litz knows the operating frequency and RMS current required for the application. Since the primary benefit of a Litz conductor is the reduction of A.C. losses, the first consideration in any Litz design is the operating frequency. The operating frequency not only influences the actual Litz construction, but is also used to determine the individual wire gauge
To combat the skin effect, litz wire uses lots of little conductors
(strands) in parallel (forming a bundle). Each little conductor is less than
a skin-depth, so an individual strand does not suffer an appreciable skin
effect loss. The strands must be insulated from each other -- otherwise all
the wires in the bundle would short together, behave like a single large
wire, and still have skin effect problems. Furthermore, the strands cannot
occupy the same radial position in the bundle: the electromagnetic effects
that cause the skin effect would still disrupt conduction. The bundle is
constructed so the individual strands are on the outside of the bundle (and
provides low resistance) for a time, but also reside in the interior of the
bundle (where the EM field changes are the strongest and the resistance is
higher). If each strand provides about the same average resistance, then
each strand will contribute equally to the conduction of the entire cable.
The weaving or twisting pattern of litz wire is designed so individual wires
will reside for short intervals on the outside of cable and for short
intervals on the inside of the cable. This allows the interior of the litz
wire to contribute to the cable's conductivity.
When the number of wires is high, the construction of litz wires can also consist of multi-litz wires, where a number of litz wires are stranded again. In this way, it is possible to have a litz wire of more than 1,000 individual wires.
