Elmo Cell Phone– A Mechanism Description
Introduction
The Elmo Cell Phone (figure 1) is a portable play phone for children. The Elmo Cell Phone evolved from the walky-talky, which was the first portable, lightweight dialog instrument. The Elmo Cell Phone is approximately 8 inches long, 6 inches wide, and 2 inch thick. The Elmo Cell Phone consists of a variety of different materials such as plastic, alloy, and metal. The Elmo Cell Phone consists of five visible parts: the antenna, face, body, speaker, and flashing lights.

Antenna
The anntena, made of plastic, is the yellow gadget that sticks out of the Elmo Cell Phone. The antenna works as the button for communication.
Face
The face of the Elmo Cell Phone is a thin colorful picture with a clear plastic disk covering it. The face has a decorative picture of Elmo and his gold fish.
Speaker
The speaker of the Elmo Cell Phone located below the face, is a plastic rectangle with holes to insure supreme sound.
Flashing Lights
The flashing lights of the Elmo Cell Phone located at the top of the Elmo Cell Phone, are clear, circular balls of plastic with lights located inside of them. The lights only flash if the antenna is pushed.
