Cheap Computer Desks

Welcome to my cheap computer desks page. This is by no means an exhaustive list of computer desks. I just want this page to give you some examples and a few of the issues you should consider when selecting a computer desk

I've been using computers at home for years and I've had many different set ups. For me the two most important things to consider when selecting a cheap computer desk are:

  • Does it have a big flat top so I can have my books and documents handy?
  • Does it have cupboards so I can put my CDs and disks away out of sight?

However I use my computer a great deal and do assignments and other stuff that forces me to refer to printed documents and books. I need lots of space on my desktop.

If you are not going to use your computer that often or only really search the Internet and write email then you may want to look at a smaller more compact computer desk.

If you think you will be spending a bit of time on your computer then please take my advice and get a desk with a nice flat top. Having lots of space is important and makes working that much easier.

When I found this desk for sale online I thought it was a good buy. It has a raised area for your monitor which clears space on the desktop for papers and a keyboard. As you can see it has a draw underneath for the keyboard but I never use these.

It is important to get a desk that raises your monitor up. For good posture your monitor should be at eye level when you are sitting down. This mean that you neck if kept nice and straight and you won't tire so quickly.

I really liked the look of it and it also has lots of places to keep things like CDs out of sight.

This desk would suit people who don't use their computer very often. The roll top keeps the computer out of site and free of dust. This would be very useful if your computer is in the living room.

As you can see it is quite compact and it doesn't leave you much room to work. If you were trying to write a school assignment you would have no place to keep your reference books.

However if you are just going to do light Internet stuff then this computer desk would be perfect.

I really like  computer desk which has a nice flat top for working and it has a bar underneath for resting your feet while your type.

I like the modern style and raised monitor stand. It is made from metal so it is much lighter weight than the other desks. It doesn't have any room for storing CDs and disks so if you have a lot of them this desk is not for you.

Anyway I hope this guide has helped you think about what you need from a computer desk. Having a little think now about what you need to do on your computer can save hours of frustration later on. Have you ever tried to write an essay with the book resting on the keyboard? I have and I wouldn't wish that on anyone!
