Prologue
Cleo said it's the best place on earth. I took her word for it. And the best way to reach the best place on earth is on bikes. That's decided then…

Just before...
Starting problems … both bikes don't have registration papers! One biker don't have no riding license… tut tut trivialities! Vishal has a snazzy leather jacket, I got my copy of 'Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance' and Nitin has got nothing to lose. There, that's settled then … ready to rock 'n' roll again!

Now the final preparations … the bikes are in good condition. The engines feel good. We top the tanks with gas, check the air pressures, get dough from the bank and we hit the road. It's 3 pm on a Friday afternoon. We had to reach Madikeri … the largest town in Coorg tonight! And that's 310 kms away! More preparations … Nitin gets paranoid about getting cigarettes on the way … and buys 6 packs of them and 10 packs of matches. Vitalstatistix!!

Kick start
It took us a while to get out of Bangalore. On the open roads, it was good. The scenery was getting better all the time. In a little over an hour, we pulled into our first stop … a roadside tea stall. Vishal remembers something - Ramanagaram is close by. That's where 'Sholay' was filmed. In less than 5 minutes we could feel the purring of the engines … the sound that said that they were right on.

...to be continued.
