Tic Tac Toe Vocabulary
I used this game when teaching a reviewing "containers". Ask the students
to call out the names of different containers or "units" (i.e. loaf, head)
and write them all on the board. There should be about 15 or so.
Then give all the students a simple nine-block (3 by 3) bingo grid and ask
them to write one word in each block. Once they have done this, you
can begin.
Call out different food/domestic product words (the word
only, not its container) and the students with the corresponding container
must add the word to the appropriate block (i.e. a jar
of
jam, a loaf of bread).
The first
student to get three in a row and call them back correctly
is the winner (though I usually continue the game until
at least half the class has three or more).
