Telephone talk
When teaching telephone dialogues issues each
student with personal telephone number written on a card. On a master card
write all the numbers.
Instead of asking pairs who have practised together
to demonstrate, choose a volunteer (?!)[or pick by number] and ask them to pick at random a
number from the master card and call it out. The student with the
corresponding number then has to reply and the dialogue begins.
This is
a really good way for lower level students to review numbers and recite
them fluently as a side exercise. It also creates a bit of tension in class because nobody
knows who will be next. I made a pair of keitai from a DoCoMo brochure
and had them use these as props.
