So what to mod with a mouse and its mousepad. Mice are pretty much unmodable besides for the color of the LED. However it is already the proper color - red. So lets move on to the mousepad.
The transparent pad just screams for some artwork - so here it is, unobstructed by the mouse. This one is a true piece of art. Too bad the pads aren't manufactured anymore.
As impressive as it looks by day, all X-Boards share another interesting feature - their reaction to light. Following my guideline of no additional cabeling where a regular PC has none, the mousepad glows on its own through the LED of an optical mouse, all without any additional cable.
