Figure 7.7. In this figure the bass and treble are being stepped in unison while the midrange is being stepped in the opposite direction. As you might expect the lines cross twice on the frequency plot. They start out the same but all lines cross at 150 Hz. The green line reaches maximum boost and the purple line reaches maximum cut at 600 Hz. All lines cross again at just above 3 kHz. The lines have the following values at max boost and cut. Green, plus 4. Blue, plus 1. Red, minus 2. Light blue, minus 4.5. Purple, minus 7.5. Note that when the midrange is reversed from the bass and treble the effect is greater than when they are stepped in unison as discussed in the text. End verbal description.
