The lower prong of an unpolarized 120 volt line plug goes to one end of a SPST switch. The other end of the switch goes to a point we will call B minus. Note: in the accompanying text the dash character is used after the B to indicate a minus sign. Your screen reader may not read the dash at all so it will come out as just B. B minus connects through a 100 k ohm resistor to the chassis. B minus also connects through a capacitor to the chassis. The capacitor is marked C2, 0.1 microfarad. A 0.05 u f capacitor connects from the upper prong to B minus. The upper prong also goes to the left end of the heater of the rectifier tube, 35Z5 or 35W4. The upper prong also goes to one end of a number 47 dial light. The other end of the dial light goes to the tap on the heater of the rectifier tube. The tap on the heater goes to the rectifier plate. There is a 0.05 microfarad capacitor going from the plate to the upper prong of the plug. The cathode of the rectifier goes to the positive end of a 40 microfarad 150 volt capacitor. The negative end goes to B minus. The positive end goes to other parts of the radio circuit which are not shown. The positive end goes through a 1 k ohm 1 watt resistor to the positive end of another 40 microfarad 150 volt capacitor. The negative end of this capacitor is also connected to B minus. The positive end of this capacitor goes to parts of the radio circuit which are not shown in this diagram. The right end of the rectifier's heater goes to one end of the heater of the audio output amplifier, 50L6 or 50C5. The other end of this heater goes to one end of the heater of the first audio and detector 12SQ7 or 12 eh V 6. The other end of this heater goes to one end of the heater of the IF amplifier, 12SK7 or 12 B eh 6. The other end of this heater goes to one end of the heater of the converter, 12S eh 7 or 12 B E 6. The other end of this heater goes to B minus. Grid 3 of the converter tube goes to one end of a variable capacitor. The other end of this capacitor goes to B minus. Grid 3 also goes to one end of the tuned loop antenna. The other end goes to a point labeled eh G C. Surrounding the tuned loop on three sides is a link winding which is usually 2 turns. One end goes to the external antenna connection and the other end goes to the chassis. End verbal description.
