In part A the top of the transformer secondary goes to the anode of D1 and the cathode of D2. The positive end of a capacitor labeled C1 connects to the cathode of D1. The negative end of C1 connects to the positive end of C2. The negative end of C2 connects to the anode of D2. The other side of the transformer secondary goes to the junction of the two caps. A load resistor, RL, is connected from the cathode of D1 to the anode of D2. The anode of D2 may be considered to be ground. In part B The bottom of the secondary is grounded. The top connects to the negative end of a cap, C1. The positive end of C1 connects to the cathode of D1 and the anode is grounded. The anode of D2 connects to the junction of C1 and D1. The cathode of D2 connects to the positive side of C2 and the negative side is grounded. The load resistor RL is connected in parallel with C2. End verbal description.
