Dynamic HTML


What is Dynamic HTML?

Dynamic HTML, another term for "special effects" on the web, incorporates advanced script languages like JavaScript or VBScript.  Luckily for you, FrontPage 2000 does much of this advanced programming for you.


Using DHTML.

  • Highlight the text or image.

  • Bring up the DHTML Effects toolbar.

    • Right-click one of the default toolbars.

    • Click DHTML Effects on the shortcut menu.

    • You'll see this:

 

  • Pick a triggering mechanism.

    • Click the < Choose an event > drop-down button ().

    • Choose an event to trigger the effect.

  • Apply an effect.

    • Click the < Choose an effect > drop-down button ().

    • Choose an effect.

  • Specify the details.

    • Click the remaining drop-down button () if available.

    • Choose the details.


Page Transitions

  • Click on Format.

  • Rest the mouse arrow on the extended menu icon ().

  • Click Page Transition...

  • Choose the triggering Event.

  • Enter the duration of the effect in seconds (decimals are allowed).

  • Choose the Transition effect.

  • Click OK.
