This is to show you how I mounted my Graupner 280 Motor and 4:1 gear box to my I.F.O. If you have crashed an I.F.O. you know the engine is the first thing to break off. After gluing it back on a time or two with Ca. I took the time to build a mount. I hope my page can give you some good ideas of your own or you can try mine..

As you can see the outside diameter of your Graupner 4:1 gear box is the same as the inside diameter of a Scotch tape roll.

This is the scotch tape roll after I removed 1/2" with my hobby knife.

After removing the outer ring of the reel with a hobby knife and roughing the surfaces up with sandpaper so it will take the Ca better.

Using a piece of the outer ring of the reel we trim off 1/8" of the width and bend a V in the plastic. Ca it to the carbon fiber. Passing under the rod.

Use gap filling Ca to fill up the gaps on the left and right of the rod.

Test fit the inner ring before adding Ca. Make sure you line the leading edge of the inner ring and the leading edge of the carbon fiber frame.

After the test fit add Ca. Use gap filling Ca to take up any holes between the v shaped outer piece and the inner piece.

Place your Graupner motor and gear box in your new engine mount and slide your zip tie under it all.

Zip it down tight. Do not Ca the gear box to the reel. The tension of the zip tie is all you need. Remember you want it to slide out in a bad crash not break off.

As you can see by the pictures I used velcro on my battery mount. I wood much rather have it come loose from the velcro then to break the battery mount off the carbon fiber fuselage.
