“He wore WHAT?”

Chris held the phone away from him as Johnny’s voice boomed through the earpiece. He hoped Johnny had some Valium. “You heard me,” Chris said.

“You’re joking with me, right?” Johnny’s voice was hopeful. “This is another of your sick, twisted jokes, to fuck with my mind and mess with my psyche?”

Chris smiled at Johnny’s desperate words. “I wish I was, dude,” he said. “But he wore it, and he was photographed in it, and you know how that works.” Chris could just see Johnny nodding his head. “It’ll be everywhere in a few hours.”

“Son of a bitch,” Johnny growled. “I’m gonna kill him.”

“Which one?”

“Both.”

“He did it?”

Lance nodded, looking up from the computer screen as Joey walked into the room. “Yep, he sure did.” He finagled the screen around so Joey could see the picture. “Looks kinda goofy on him, but bless his heart, he did it.”

“Boy has balls of steel, that’s for sure.” Joey laughed. “I cannot believe Diane suggested he wear it.”

How dare you accuse my mother of such a thing?” Lance protested laughingly. “So, do you think he’ll understand what it means?”

“I would hope so,” Joey scoffed. “Even Justin’s not that dumb.” Lance gave Joey a measured look. “Okay, maybe he is, but this is a hint big enough for him to get, don’t you think?”

Lance shrugged. “It’s so hard to tell with those two,” Lance allowed. “They’ve been up and down, back and forth, together and apart for so many years, Joe.” He shrugged again.

“You’re right,” Joey agreed. “Let’s keep our fingers crossed, though. Life is so much easier when they’re together.” Joey threw the script of their new movie, November Tale, at Lance. “Here, say your line.”

“Okay,” Lance agreed. “‘New stars are born everyday and stars burn out everyday.’” He glared at Joey. “Are WE gay?”

Joey laughed.

Justin smiled at the name on his caller ID. “Yes, I saw it,” he said instead of saying hello.

Britney laughed. “Well?”

“Where do you think I am?” he asked.

Britney paused. “I would hope you’re in your car, driving up to see him.”

“And you said you never really knew me,” Justin teased. His voice turned serious as the distance to JC’s house shortened. “I thought he hated me, Britney…after what we said to each other that night.”

“Now you know different.” Her heart ached for them, and their screwed up love life.

“Now I know different.” At least, Justin thought, he hoped that’s what this meant. He noticed his hands were shaking just a bit as they gripped the steering wheel. “Thanks, Brit.”

“I love you, brat.” Her voice softened. “Be happy.”

Justin smiled as he turned onto JC’s street. “I hope so.”

“I can’t believe you wore that.”

Their tongues touched in soft, swirling strokes, their moans growing in volume and number.

“I was hoping you’d understand what I meant.”

Teeth nibbled on lips, hands roamed hard, hot flesh.

“I would have done something similar soon,” Justin said, leaning away from JC, their eyes meeting in shadowing room. “You know I can’t live without you,” he teased.

JC’s hands stilled on Justin’s back. “No, I don’t,” he admitted.

Justin blinked. “You know it, you must know how I feel about you.” He shifted on the couch a bit, sitting up and away from JC. He was scared by the sudden seriousness.

JC did the same, scooting close to Justin, holding his hands. “I know you love me, Just,” he said softly. “But I’m not sure it’s enough. I’m not sure it’ll ever be enough for you.”

“It hurts, doesn’t it?” Justin sighed. “I hurt you, yet you still wear my necklace.” He looked at JC, his eyes quickly sliding away. “I didn’t expect this, you know that.”

JC nodded. “I know.” It was the older man’s turn to sigh. “I really thought it was over, Justin. That after your party, we were done.” Justin cringed at the reminder. “No, don’t. It’s okay.”

Justin shook his head. “No, it’s not,” he protested, recalling their heated argument the night of his record release. “But go on.”

“There’s really not much more I can say,” JC said. He dropped onto the floor and settled between Justin’s knees. His hands lifted to gently cup the boy’s face. “I love you, Justin. It’s as simple as that.”

“As simple as that?”

“Yes,” JC allowed. “I tried to stay away, tried to put you behind me, and see? I lasted a whole two weeks.” He kissed one of Justin’s hands. “So, again, I realized that no matter what, I’m yours.”

“Mine?”

“Yours.” JC nodded. “I’ll be here, for you, when you decide what you want.” JC smiled slyly. “See, I know, deep down, you’ll choose me.” He licked a finger, pressing the warm, wet digit against Justin’s throat, trailing it down to his chest. “Be cause I know, deep down, we belong together.” He leaned in and reversed his finger’s trail with his tongue, ending with his lips hovering over Justin’s. “And I think, deep down, you know it, too, and that deep down, you know you’re mine.”

His mouth forced Justin’s apart, his tongue surging inside, to physically affirm his words in Justin’s mind, a kiss that reached Justin’s soul. JC pushed Justin back onto the couch, his hands deftly removing Justin’s clothes until the boy was naked beneath him. JC’s mouth moved fast, leaving a slick, hot trail down Justin’s chest until he reached his hard straining cock. There was no pause as JC enveloped Justin in his mouth, tongue and teeth and throat working fast to bring Justin to a screaming, trembling release.

JC wasted no time, not letting Justin recover from his orgasm before he slicked up his entrance and climbed between his legs. He pushed Justin’s knees up and slid into place, pushing inside the younger man with a fierce growl of pleasure.

Justin felt JC enter him through his shudder climax, looking up at his lover with wonder and awe. The reversal of their usual roles was exhilarating, for once giving Justin the opportunity to let go, to abandon himself to the one person in the world he trusted the most, the only person in the world he felt safe in allowing himself to be this exposed, this vulnerable.

Their eyes locked as JC pumped hard once, twice, finally finding release on the third thrust, his groan of pleasure lost in Justin’s arms as he collapsed on the younger man. They held each other as the trembling lessened and the cool night air dried their sweaty skin.

JC lay collapsed on Justin’s chest, shivering slightly as Justin’s fingers trailed lightly along his back. He lifted a bit, smiling at the younger man. “I love you,” he said simply.

“I don’t deserve you,” Justin said.

JC shrugged. “Maybe.”

“And you deserve better.”

“Not possible,” JC argued.

“Tell me you love me.”

JC smiled. “I love you.”

They were silent for a moment. “I love you, too, Josh,” Justin said.

JC nodded. “I know.” He kissed the younger man lightly. “That’s what makes it all worth it in the end, you know.” He leaned down, lightly flicking his tongue against Justin’s chest, smiling at the feel of his growing arousal. “As long as we have that, we’ll be okay.”

Justin pulled JC up, kissing him, his lips tinged with a bit of desperation. “Don’t give up on me,” he said, his voice hoarse with need. “Please.”

JC kissed him back, his own lips tasting of love, his kiss a promise of shelter and faith. “Never,” he promised.

He slipped down Justin’s body, his hips straddling the boy’s hardened cock. JC slid Justin inside of him just as the phone rang.

“Let it ring,” JC said, his voice catching as Justin pressed deep inside of him. “The…machine…oh…yess…”

Hi, I’m not here. Leave a message.

“Dudes,” Chris’ voice boomed. “I know you’re probably screwing like pink-eyed bunny rabbits, but just wanted to warn you that Johnny’s on the warpath. That was a super bonehead thing you did, Chasez…you think no one would notice? Anyway, Johnny’s proba….” Chris’ voice was cut of in mid-sentence.

“Oops,” Justin said, his hand fisted around the phone cord he’d pulled from the wall.

JC just smiled.
