Dinner seemed interminable to Joshua. Course after course was place in
front of him, and he did his best, but he seemed to have no appetite this
evening. He glanced down the table and smiled.
At least, no appetite for food.
Joshua laughed at himself. He was acting like a lovesick schoolboy about Justin,
and that surprised him. Usually, if he were rebuffed as he had been, he’d end
it. No harm done, no hurt feelings. But it was more than the bet he had with
Christophe that made Joshua continue his pursuit of Justin. There was something
special about him, something that Joshua seemed to hunger for.
Something fresh. Clean.
Pure.
He looked down the table again, watching as the boy conversed casually with
Britney. The girl had cornered him before they’d gone into dinner, scolding
him and warning to tread carefully with Justin. That he’d been hurt before,
and if he were hurt again, she would take it as a personal insult. Joshua had
just smiled at her, not answering. But it caused him to think about Justin in a
different light.
Suddenly, their eyes locked across the distance. Time stood still as the two men
considered each other. Joshua wondered if he’d ever seen anything so beautiful
as Justin, the soft golden glow of the candles lighting his features, his lips
parted slightly, his cheeks spreading with pink as Joshua continued to watch. He
smiled again as Justin tore his gaze away, concentrating on the next course
placed in front of him.
Hours
later, Joshua finally said good night to his last guest and retreated to his
library. As much as he loved entertaining, he’d be glad when they all left
tomorrow. He entered the library and walked to one of the bookcases, pouring
himself a brandy. He took the drink and headed to the chairs in front of the
fireplace, only to stop short at the sight in front of him.
Justin was asleep in one of the wing chairs facing the fireplace.
Joshua sat down in the other chair and considered the boy across from him. Again,
he marveled at the shear beauty of him. The firelight played across his features
much as the candles had, making him appear almost unearthly. His riotous curls
gleamed with gold and silver and looked like a halo. Joshua shook his head,
dispelling the notions of Justin being an angel. He feared if he made him too
flawless, he might find it hard to sleep with him. But Joshua didn’t think
that was likely.
After all, every angel should fall from Heaven at least once.
Joshua sat there watching as Justin finally awoke. The boy slowly rubbed his
face, then realized where he was, sitting up sharply when he saw Joshua across
from him. “I’m sorry, your grace,” he said. “I did not mean to fall
asleep. I only came in here to…”
“Escape the girls, yes, I understand,” Joshua said. Again, the young
daughters of Joshua’s business acquaintances had cornered Justin, giggling and
teasing him throughout the musical presentations earlier this evening. “Would
you like a brandy?” Joshua asked.
“No, thank you,” Justin said, starting to rise only to have Joshua hold up a
hand, stilling his movements. Justin sat, wondering why he wanted him to wait.
“Your grace, I feel I’m disrupting your peace here. If you would allow me to
leave…” Justin stopped talking at the sound of shattering glass. Joshua had
thrown his brandy, glass and all, into the fireplace. Justin looked into his
eyes, finding a dark blue fire burning there.
“My name,” he said softly, but with steel in his voice, “is Joshua.”
Justin was unable to tear his gaze away. The firelight was playing tricks on him.
No one could look that good, could be that handsome, could be that desirable,
Justin thought. But he was. Joshua was that and more. Justin knew, at that
moment, he would be with Joshua. He could no more deny that than he could fly.
He watched as Joshua slipped to his knees in front of Justin’s chair, lifting
a hand to trace a finger along Justin’s face.
“What is my name?” he asked, the finger lightly tracing Justin’s mouth.
“Joshua,” he whispered, feeling the pressure of that finger on his lips. He
opened them slightly, slipping his tongue out to quickly lick the finger placed
there. Justin heard Joshua inhale sharply as he moved the finger against his
lips, pressing them open. Justin acted on instinct and sucked the finger into
his mouth.
Joshua moaned at Justin’s actions. It was the most erotic thing Joshua had
felt in a long time. His mind raced with the possibilities, the thought of that
beautiful mouth doing things to other parts of his body. Joshua removed his
finger, moving his hand to the side of Justin’s head and pulling him closer,
placing his lips on Justin’s still open mouth.
Their mouths fused together, tongues dancing and floating, each desperate to
hold the other as close as possible. Joshua felt Justin’s arms come around him,
grasping at his back, pulling him as far next to him as their positions would
allow. Joshua’s hands were busy as well, anchoring in Justin’s soft curls,
holding the boy’s head so Joshua could make love to his mouth the way he
wanted to make love to his body. He pushed Justin’s legs apart, but felt with
frustration the chair against his body instead of Justin. In one move, he pulled
Justin toward him and tumbled them both onto the rug in front of the fire.
Their mouths broke apart, each one breathing heavily. Their eyes locked. Joshua
searched Justin’s bright blue orbs for any sign of fear or displeasure or
trepidation. All he saw was desire. Desire for Joshua.
Joshua lifted a hand and began to unbutton Justin’s shirt, slowly exposing
skin to his gaze and touch. He leaned down to lightly flick his tongue against
one of Justin’s erect nipples. “What’s my name?” he asked again, biting
lightly against the sensitive nub.
“Joshua,” Justin moaned, groping at the older man’s clothes, desperate to
feel Joshua’s skin against his own.
Joshua leaned away a bit, helping Justin with the discarding of his clothes
before returning to rid Justin of his offending garments. Soon they lay naked
together, skin on skin, heat on heat. Joshua looked down at Justin, marveling at
the boy. He ran a finger down Justin’s chest, smiling as the muscles
contracted and shivered at the touch, until he found his goal. Joshua watched
his own hand caress Justin, but soon that wasn’t enough. He had to taste him;
he had to know if Justin tasted as fresh and as pure as he seemed
Justin had moaned as Joshua had touched him, but when Joshua’s mouth closed
over him Justin shrieked as the sensations poured through him. Joshua’s mouth
was hot and wet and oh-my-god felt so good so good so good…
Joshua peered up Justin’s body, knowing the younger man was close to climax.
He quickly slid between Justin’s thighs, reaching down and wiping the moisture
from Justin’s erection, combining it with his own, making him slick and ready
to enter Justin’s body. Joshua kissed Justin deeply, then looked into his
face, making Justin open his eyes just as Joshua entered his body. Their eyes
locked as their bodies became one. Joshua set a rhythm of thrusts that Justin
answered forcefully, their bodies moving together in a dance as old as time.
Joshua heard Justin’s breath catch, and felt his own body begin to tense,
ready to explode. Joshua came in a rush, pulling Justin close to him with one
final, almost savage thrust. Justin saw the universe shatter as he cried out,
this time without prompting.
"Joshua!"
