Part 1

Hearing the soft click of the door, JC opened his eyes, frowning a bit as he spied Justin standing just inside the threshold. He strained his ears, relaxing a bit when he realized the water was running and Chris was still in the shower, but still. Justin knew better. “Justin,” he said softly.

A smile split the boy’s face as he quickly covered the distance between door and bed. “Good morning,” he said, right before he leapt onto JC, plastering himself against JC’s body and kissing him soundly.

JC tried to protest. Really, he did. But Justin in his arms and on his body and oh, kissing him like that, well, he really was too hard to resist. Instead of pushing the boy away, JC’s arms held him closer, shifting his legs until Justin lay nestled between his thighs, moaning as his morning erection met Justin’s hardening body.

They kissed for endless moments, finally coming up for air with JC’s lips a bit swollen and Justin’s skin rubbed pink by JC’s stubble. JC lifted a finger, running it softly over Justin’s cheek before outlining the kissed-red lips. “Baby, you have to stop doing this,” he scolded, though his actions belayed his words.

“I know,” Justin said, nipping at JC’s finger. “But we’ll be recording all day today.” His lips moved to JC’s ear. “And tomorrow.” Justin’s kisses traveled along JC’s jaw to the other ear. “And the next, and when do we ever get any time alone?” Justin didn’t even wait for JC’s answer, instead covering his mouth in another blazing kiss.

“But, Justin,” JC groaned as Justin’s mouth moved down JC’s neck. “It’s dangerous. The other guys, your mom, the Transcon people, oh God.” Justin’s hand had worked itself between them and was now grasping JC’s cock. JC allowed himself ten seconds of this intense pleasure…okay, thirty seconds…then pulled away from Justin, leaping out of the bed.

“Mom’s sick. She won’t be out of bed all day.” Justin propped himself up on an elbow, smiling at JC as he escaped to the other side of the room. Which was, considering how small the rooms were in the crappy hotel, not very far away. In fact, Justin thought,

“Stop that!” JC said, batting Justin’s food away from his groin. He took a deep breath and ran a frustrated hand over his face. “You know we have to be careful about this stuff.”

Justin sighed, knowing JC was right. Justin knew that JC loved him, and he loved JC, but that’s as far as it went. The other Nsync members didn’t know. His mom didn’t know (though now and then she’d look at the two of them in a way that made Justin wonder). And needless to say, Lou and the other corporate people didn’t know, either. They weren’t sure when they’d tell everyone, but right now it was better to keep it a secret. Their image, after all. Kind of hard to appeal to teenage girls when two of your members were gay.

Not to mention that Justin was only fifteen.

Justin realized that JC was getting more and more stressed about that fact as time went on. To Justin, it didn’t matter. He didn’t feel fifteen. He didn’t feel five years younger than JC. He’d been working most of his life, and regardless of the fact that he couldn’t sign his own contracts or drink (though he did have a great fake id, thanks to Joey, saying he was eighteen so he could at least get onto Pleasure Island without his mom), he felt all grown up. He was a man, a man in love. “I’m sorry,” Justin finally said.

JC laughed, coming over to stand next to bed as Justin sat up. “No, you’re not,” JC told him, leaning down and kissing him. “You’re reckless and dangerous and way too cocky for your own good, but I love you anyway.”

“I love you too,” Justin replied, pulling JC closer and pressing his face against JC’s stomach. He inhaled deeply, the scent of JC stirring him once more. “I just hate hiding and want to be with you.” His thumbs worked along the hem of the beater JC was wearing, slipping the material up and exposing JC’s warm skin to Justin’s mouth.

JC yelped at the contact, moving again out of Justin’s grasp. “You’re impossible!”

Justin was reaching for JC again when they heard the shower stop. JC pulled Justin off the bed and toward the door. “Go, now. We’ll find some time together, I promise.” With a quick kiss, he shoved Justin out the door.

“Who was that?” Chris asked, entering the room, a towel wrapped around his waist and another one in his hands, drying his hair.

JC turned from the door. “Justin. Telling us when to meet.”

Chris blinked. “Uh, didn’t we already know that?”

“Did we?” JC hedged. “I hope you left me a towel.”

“You can have this one,” Chris said, whipping the one from his waist off and throwing it at JC.

JC deftly avoided the wet towel by closing the bathroom door.

“JC, please try it again,” Dennis asked in his lilting English.

Justin watched as JC nodded, adjusting the headphones and closing his eyes. He was intent on the music, totally immersed and ready to sing when his part came. Watching him sing, Justin was taken back to when he fell in love with JC. He’d been standing in the wings, watching as JC and Tony taped their segment, singing the Richard Marx song “Now and Forever.” JC’s intensity and voice and pure enjoyment of the moment had caught Justin’s eye, and he’d stopped talking to Ryan and just watched JC. Something passed though Justin as he listened to JC, something tangible, something that touched Justin down to his soul. He’d been thirteen years old and he knew, he knew, that he’d fallen in love.

It was the same now. Justin watched as JC sang his part. The song was good. Catchy and upbeat and even to Justin’s untrained ear, a good pick for their European debut. After recording the song a few times as a group, they’d all done two takes of their parts, and JC was just finishing up his second one. He held the note, then spied Justin through the glass. JC gave Justin a goofy grin, and his heart flipped again.

“Very good, JC,” Dennis told him, then turned to the other. “I think that’ll do it, boys.”

Four pairs of eyes blinked at him. JC exited the booth and joined his band mates, noting their shocked expressions. “What’s going on?”

“Dennis said we’re done recording,” Joey said simply.

“Are you sure?” JC asked. “We were scheduled to be here at least another two days.”

“Really, it was great. You boys are so good, that all we need are these takes.” Dennis shook all their hands. “I will be seeing you boys again a few weeks to record the rest of the album. Now, go have some fun.” He ushered them out of the studio.

“Well.”

The five members of Nsync looked at each other outside the recording studio.

“Well,” JC said again. “I really expected that to take a bit longer.”

Chris laughed. “At least a bit longer than,” he checked his watch, “eight hours.”

“So, what do you all want to do?” Joey asked, his eyes scanning the sidewalk and smiling at the pretty girls passing. “Here we are, in Stockholm, footloose and fancy free. I say we take advantage of it.”

Chris rubbed his hand together. “Good idea, Joe,” he said, linking arms with Lance. “We’ll get Lance a girl, he needs one.” Lance blushed dark red. “How about you, Justin? Wanna become a man tonight?”

“Uh, well,” Justin stammered. “I’m kinda…I mean…I have a headache.”

Joey and Chris exploded with laughter. “Dude, only wives get headaches,” Joey teased.

“Come on, Baby J,” Chris cajoled. “Your mom isn’t here, and Joey, being the resource man he is, got the name and address of a really classy cathouse.”

“No, really,” Justin said. “I think I’ll go back to the hotel.” He looked at JC quickly.

“I’ll take you back, Justin,” JC said quickly. “You all go and have a good time, and we’ll see you later.”

The other three protested a bit more, but in the end, went off without JC and Justin. “So, do you really have a headache?” JC asked, walking with Justin down the street.

“Nope!” Justin laughed, twirling around. “But as much as I love the other guys, given the choice between spending a day with them or spending a day with you, I’ll pick you.”

JC smiled and pulled Justin under one of the trees lining the sidewalk, kissing him quickly. “You’re impossible,” he repeated from earlier this morning.

“But you love me?”

“More than anything,” JC vowed. “Now, what do you want to do? There’s a great art museum, and of course, the Royal Palace, and oh, the food! How about a canal ride?”

“Food?”

“Trust you to focus in on that,” JC laughed. “Okay, let’s find something to eat.”

Justin looked over the edge of the boat. “This is pretty cool,” he said, leaning back against JC’s chest. “I didn’t realize a city could be so pretty.”

JC smiled against Justin’s hair. “It is pretty, isn’t it?” He turned Justin around and kissed him softly. “So are you.”

“JC!”

“Look, nobody cares,” JC said, nodding toward the other passengers. “It’s Europe. They’re very open here.”

Justin looked around. Indeed, there was no one on the canal boat looking at them oddly, or even looking at them at all. Justin spied another couple, both men, snuggled toward the back. “So, can you give me a real kiss then?” Justin teased.

“Nothing too wild,” JC said. “You’re still young, even for European standards.”

“I’ve got my fake with me,” Justin said, shifting a bit closer.

“Justin…”

“When can we make love?”

JC blinked. “Justin…”

“Don’t say it. I’m too young. But damn, JC, I want you. You want me. What else matters?”

Looking into those beseeching blue eyes, wide with emotion and dark with love, JC wondered himself what else matters. He lifted a hand and touched Justin’s mouth. “Let’s not worry about it now, okay? We’re in Europe. We’ve just recorded our first record, and we can, at least for this evening, be together. Let’s just focus on that.”

Justin opened his mouth to protest, then closed it. JC was right. JC was always right. Today was too special to ruin by fussing about something they’d been arguing about for months now. “Okay,” he said, slipping his arms around JC and laying his head on the older man’s chest.

“Why is it still so bright out?” Joey asked as he and Lance and Chris exited the restaurant.

“It’s summer,” Chris explained. “And we’re close to the Artic Circle. Days are like…20 hours long here.”

“That’s cool, but I think I’d miss the night,” Joey said, pulling a twig off a tree before they crossed a canal bridge.

“Then you’d love winter,” Lance said. “It’s just the opposite, and dark most of the time.”

“That’s something I could get behind,” Joey said as he dropped the twig off the bridge. They all stood for a moment, watching the canal boat float under them. “Hey, isn’t that JC?” Joey said, spying their band mate on the deck of the boat. “And look, he’s got company. Squeezable company,” he noted after seeing JC holding someone in his arms.

Chris squinted. “Yes, it is,” he agreed. “I guess he dumped the infant and found himself a girl.”

“Uh, guys?” Lance said. “That’s not a girl.”

All three were transfixed as the head on JC’s chest lifted. Their mouths opened in astonishment as Justin leaned in and kissed JC squarely on the lips.
