“Go upstairs, J.”
“Josh, I’m not leaving you down here by yourself.” I looked at him
pleadingly.
“Justin, go upstairs.”
I knew he wasn’t backing down. Sighing dejectedly, I walked up the stairs and
sat at the top, my knees curled to my chest.
I couldn’t see what was going on, which made me nervous, but it was slightly
comforting to know that I could hear every word that was being said.
I heard the door click as JC unlocked it, and my breath caught in my throat.
Please, just don’t let anything happen to him.
“What do you want, Ryan?”
“What the fuck do you think I want? Where is he?” The rage in Ryan’s voice sent shivers up my spine. Iknew
that tone all too well.
Be careful, JC.
“He doesn’t want to see you, and you really have no right to be here.”
“I have every right to be here. It’s my boyfriend you’re hiding from me.”
“I think Justin made it quite clear that he doesn’t want to be with you
anymore, Ryan. Now I’d appreciate it if you’d leave my property before I
call the police.”
“You wouldn’t dare,” Ryan hissed.
“Watch me.”
Then came silence. After what seemed like an eternity, I heard the growl of
Ryan’s voice again.
“You’re making a huge mistake, Chasez. You have no idea what you’re
dealing with here. This isn’t over.”
I finally breathed again when I heard JC shut and lock the door.
He stopped at the bottom of the stairs and looked up at me with those eyes of
his, the ones I just can’t avoid. Slowly, he made his way towards me, sitting
next to me when he got to the top.
I rested my head on his shoulder and he slipped his arm around my waist.
“He’s not gonna give up, Jace.”
“It doesn’t matter. I won’t let him hurt you, Justin. I won’t.” I
smiled and nuzzled my face into his neck, pressing my lips against the soft
flesh.
He shivered slightly, then ran his hand up the back of my neck. “We should get
some sleep, Justin.”
“Mm-hmm.” He stood and I followed him to his room. I crawled under the covers next to him and nestled into the
crook of his arm, my head on his chest.
“It’s gonna be ok, Justin,” he whispered, his hand resting on the small of
my back. “Everything’s gonna be ok.”
I feel asleep to the sound of him breathing; it was the best night of sleep
I’d had in my life.
