Little Man & Jay-Cee

“Can I come, Jussy? Pleeeeease?” Jonathan begged, tugging on Justin’s pant leg.

Justin laughed and patted Jonathan on the head. “You’re gonna have to talk to mom, kiddo. It’s not up to me.”

Jonathan’s head snapped to the right, where Lynn was standing, smirk on her face.

“Mommy? Please can I go with Jussy and Jay-Cee to Disney Wowld?”

“We’ll see, honey,” Lynn laughed, patting the young boy on the head. “Justin, JC, and the other boys have a concert to do tomorrow night, we don’t want them to be all worn out from watching you all day long.”

“I wanna go!” Jonathan pouted. “I wanna see Mickey.”

“First, you need to get a good night’s sleep,” Justin told him. “Can’t have you all cranky tomorrow.”

Jonathan’s eyes lit up, and he threw his arms around Justin’s leg. “I get to go?”

Justin looked at his mother and shrugged, grinning when she sighed in resignation. “We’ll watch him, Mom. Don’t worry.”

“Did I just hear that my little guy is coming with us tomorrow?”

“Jay-Cee!” Jonathan shouted, running to the front door happily.

“Hey, buddy,” he smiled, scooping the young boy in to his arms. “What’s up?”

“Jussy said I can come wif you tomorrow!”

“Well that’s great, kiddo! You gonna ride the teacups with me!”

Jonathan giggled and shook his head wildly. “They make me dizzy, Jay-Cee!”

“Come on, Jonathan. Time for bed,” Lynn called.

JC tickled Jonathan playfully before setting him down and kissing the top of his head. “Night, kiddo. See you tomorrow.”

“Night Jay-Cee! Night Jussy!” Jonathan called happily as he skipped upstairs.

Justin caught JC’s eyes and smiled warmly when JC opened his arms.

Justin slid into the older man’s embrace, resting his head on JC’s shoulder. “I missed you,” he mumbled into JC’s neck.

“Missed you too, baby,” JC replied, kissing the soft curls on the top of Justin’s head. “I just stopped by to say good night. I was on my way home from Joey’s, and I wanted to see you before I went to bed.”

“So sweet,” Justin murmured, kissing JC’s neck lightly.

“Ahem.” Justin looked up to find Lynn standing across the room, wearing her classic, knowing smirk. “Hello, Joshua.”

“Hi, Lynn,” JC said, smiling despite his reddened cheeks.

“Thanks for offering to bring Jonathan along tomorrow. He just loves spending time with you boys.”

“It’s no problem, Lynn. I love the little guy.”

“Promise me something, ok?”

Justin frowned at his mother. “What’s up, Mom?”

Lynn sighed as she sat down on the couch, patting the coushin next to her. “Sit down, boys.”

JC and Justin complied, eyeing each other, and Lynn, nervously. “Relax,” she said, patting Justin’s knee. “It’s nothing huge. I just wanted to make sure you two knew not to be to…affectionate with each other tomorrow. Jonathan doesn’t know about you two, and I’d like to keep it that way for now. He just wouldn’t understand.”

JC nodded in agreement. “That’s fine, Lynn. Justin and I try not to be overly affectionate in public, anyway. Brings in too much talk.”

“Don’t worry, Mom. We’re not ready for him to know yet anyway.”

“All right. As long as we’re in agreement,” Lynn said, standing up slowly. “I’m headed to bed. See you two in the morning. Don’t stay up too late, Justin,” she winked. “Good night, Joshua.”

“Night, Lynn,” JC waved, smiling. He looked over at Justin, who was grinning at him. “What?”

“I love you.”

“I love you too, Jus. Where did that come from?”

Justin shrugged, wrapping an arm around JC’s waist. “I don’t know. I just don’t think I tell you enough. So, I love you.”

JC hugged Justin close, tilting the blond’s head upward before kissing him tenderly. “And like I said, I love you too. Now, Timberlake, I have to get home and get some sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a long day.”

“Can’t you stay here?” Justin pouted, tightening his grip on JC’s body.

JC laughed, prying Justin’s hands from his sides. “That’s not a good idea, baby. Our luck, Jonathan would come down here and see us, and you know we don’t want that happening.”

Justin sighed unhappily. “Fine, just leave me then.”

JC ruffled Justin’s hair playfully. “Brat. Don’t pull a guilt trip on me.” He leaned forward and kissed Justin again, smiling against his mouth. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”

“Love you!” Justin called as JC opened the door.

“Love you too,” JC called, and Justin closed his eyes once the door had slammed behind him.

“Justin,” JC whispered, shaking his boyfriend lightly. “Justin, baby, wake up.”

Justin muttered something into the pillow, burying his face into the couch.

“Justin, you have to get up,” JC said, rubbing small circles on Justin’s lower back. “Don’t make me tickle you.”

Justin’s head shot up, eyes still blurry with slumber, a sleep crease indented in his cheek. “I’m up!”

JC laughed, smoothing Justin’s unruly curls. “Morning, sleepyhead. Mind if I ask why you’re on the couch?”

Justin’s head fell back to his pillow, his eyes drifting from open to closed and back again. “Too lazy to go upstairs after you left.”

“Aww, poor baby,” JC teased, smiling down at his boyfriend. “Now get up! We have to leave in half an hour, and your brother is going crazy.”

Justin laughed, rubbing his eyes sleepily. “He’s that excited, huh?”

“Yep.”

“You know, sometimes I think you love him more than you love me,” Justin teased, pinching JC’s arm.

“That’s not true and you know it,” JC said, leaning down to kiss Justin. He pulled back and wrinkled his nose teasingly. “Eww, morning breath.”

“Whatever, Chasez. Get those lips back here before I have to hurt you.”

“We should really go get Jonathan in here. He’s way too excited for his own good.”

“I don’t care,” Justin said, pressing his lips to JC’s. “He can wait. Right now, all I care about is you.”

Justin and JC both jumped when the heard a door slam.

“What was that?” JC asked, frowning.

“Who knows. Probably Jonathan throwing a tantrum. Now get off me, you big oaf. I have to take a shower.”

“Hurry up, J. We gotta get going!” JC called after Justin, who was running up the stairs two at a time.

“Yeah, yeah! I’ll hurry.”

***

“You ready to go, little man?” JC asked, reaching out to pat Jonathan on the head. He frowned when Jonathan pulled away from his touch.

“Leave me alone.”

JC smirked. “Someone a little crabby today?”

Jonathan glared at JC, sticking his tongue out before looking away.

“What’s the deal with the kid?” JC whispered to Justin.

Justin just shrugged. “Dunno. He’s being fine to me,” he said, just as Jonathan wrapped himself around his older brother’s leg.

“Jussy, let’s go.”

“Ok, bud,” Justin smiled down at him. “You ready to have some fun with JC and me?”

Jonathan pulled a face and shook his head. “Does Jay-Cee have to go?”

“Yes, JC has to go. What’s your problem today?”

“Nuffing. I just want to go with you.”

“Well, I’m sorry, Jon, but JC is coming too. You were so excited last night, what happened?”

“Nuffing. Let’s go.”

Justin sighed and lifted the young boy into his arms, shrugging his shoulders at a very confused JC.

“Bye, Mom!” Justin called. “We’re leaving. See you at the concert.”

“Have fun, kids! Jonathan, you be good for Justin and JC.”

“Only for Jussy,” Jonathan muttered, only loud enough for Justin to hear.

“What’s with you, Jon?”

Jonathan didn’t answer, just shot JC a glare and buried his face in Justin’s neck.

“Don’t worry about it, Justin,” JC said. “He’s just a little cranky. He’ll get over it.”

“No I won’t! I hate you!” Jonathan screamed.

JC’s jaw dropped in shock. “What?”

“Jonathan, you take that back right this minute!” Justin shouted. “Tell JC that you do not hate him!”

Jonathan remained quiet. “Little guy?” JC said quietly. “What did I do?”

“Leave me alone,” Jonathan said. “I’m sowwy. Let’s go.”

“NO. Not until you promise to stop acting like a little brat. I’m not going to spend all day long with you if you keep acting like this.”

“I pwomise,” Jonathan said quietly, avoiding Justin’s eyes. “Can we go now?”

JC tried to ignore the hurt he was feeling as they walked out the door.

***

“Jonathan!” Justin shouted for what felt like the hundredth time that day.

Jonathan snickered at his older brother, who was looking helplessly at a very sticky JC.

“It was a accident, Jussy,” Jonathan said. “I dint mean to pour my soda on him.”

“That’s it, Jonathan. I am sick of this. I don’t know what your problem is with JC today, but it ends. NOW. Or you’re going home.”

Jonathan’s eyes widened. “Nuh uh! You won’t make me go home!”

“Try me. So far today, you’ve kicked JC in the shins four times, spilled your soda all over his shirt, and dropped your ice cream cone on his shoe. Not to mention the number of times you’ve stuck your tongue out at him or punched him. He didn’t do anything, Jonathan, and you’re being a little brat. Shape up, or you’re going home.”

Jonathan stuck his lower lip out and crossed his arms, huffing angrily. “Fine.”

“Now tell JC you’re sorry.”

“I’m sowwy,” he spat.

“MEAN it.”

Jonathan sighed disgustedly and looked up at JC. “I’m sowwy, Jay-Cee. I’m sowwy I spilled my soda on you. And kicked you. And punched you. And dropped my ice cweam on you.”

JC just nodded. “Ok, little man.”

“Can we go now, Jussy?” the young boy whined, tugging on Justin’s hand.

“What would you like to do now, Jon?”

“Safari Ride! Safari Ride!” he changed, grinning from ear to ear.

“That one’s right over there, Jus,” JC said with a smile. He was rewarded with a grin from Justin and a glare from Jonathan, who pushed his way between the two men and clung to Justin’s hand.

Being a pop star with security in tow had it’s perks; they got to the front of the line right away, and Justin pulled Jonathan on to his lap, frowning when JC slid into the seat in front of them.

“Jayce? Why are you sitting up there?”

“Who cares!” Jonathan shouted. “Let him.”

Justin sighed in frustration, tightening his grip on his younger brother’s waist. “Sit still and be quiet, Jon. And leave JC alone.”

He sat still, and he was quiet. It was the “leave JC alone” part that he was having a problem with.

*kick*

JC sighed, deciding it would be best just to ignore the boy.

*kick*

“Jonathan,” JC said, his voice warning.

*kick*

“Jon, would you please stop kicking my chair?” JC asked sweetly, still facing forward.

*kick kick kick*

“That’s IT!” JC shouted, spinning around in his seat. He glared at the young boy on Justin’s lap; Jonathan glared right back.

“Look, little man, I’ve TRIED to put up with your crap today, but I’m really getting sick of it,” JC whispered angrily. “Now either knock it off, or tell me what’s bothering you so I can fix it.”

“NO!”

The ride pulled to a stop, and JC rose from his seat, still looking at Jonathan. “Jon, what did I do to make you so angry?”

Jonathan hopped off Justin’s lap, tears glimmering in his young eyes. “You’re twying to take my brother away from me! Pretty soon he’s not even gonna care about me anymore!” he cried before pulling his hand from Justin’s and running off.

JC looked at Justin in confusion; Justin took off after his brother.

“Jon, wait!” he called, trying to catch up to him.

“Justin!” JC called, grabbing Justin’s wrist and pulling him back. “Let me, ok?”

Justin’s shoulders sagged a little, and he nodded. “I’ll wait over there,” he said, pointing to a nearby bench.

Jonathan wasn’t hard to find. He was leaning up against a cotton candy stand, tears streaming down his cheeks.

“Little guy?” JC said softly, crouching down next to Jonathan.

“Go ‘way!”

“Come on, kiddo, talk to me here. I’m your big buddy, remember? You were supposed to ride the teacups with me and get all dizzy,” JC teased, tickling Jonathan’s sides lightly.

Jonathan giggled a little, rubbing at his little nose. “You’re gonna take him away. He loves you more.”

“What? Jon, where is all this coming from? You know Justin loves you! I could never take your place.”

“I saw you!” Jonathan said accusingly. “You were on da couch, and Justin was kissin you and stuff, and he said he didn’t care about me. Only about you.”

JC’s eyes widened, his heart nearly beating out of his chest. “Jonathan…honey, Justin didn’t mean it like that.”

“Yes he did! He did mean it Jay-Cee! He said he loved you and he didn’t care about me!”

JC smoothed Jonathan’s hair down and wiped the tears from his cheeks. “Come here, Jon,” he said, sitting down on the ground and pulling Jonathan into his lap. “I love Justin very, very much, ok? And I want to be in his life forever.”

“He won’t love me anymore!”

“No, honey. That’s not true,” JC cooed. “Let me finish, ok?”

Jonathan nodded, rubbing his teary eyes.

“Justin loves you with all of his heart, little man. You’re his family, and nothing is ever going to change that. Not me, not anyone.”

“Are you sure?”

“I’m positive, kiddo. And you know what?”

“What?”

“Even if Justin did try to stop loving you, I wouldn’t let him, because I love you too much myself to let you get hurt, ok?”

“You love me?”

“Yep. A whole lot, too.”

Jonathan squirmed in JC’s lap until he was facing him, a tiny grin on his lips. “I love you too, Jay-Cee,” he said shyly, wrapping his arms around JC and hugging him tightly. “And I’m sowwy I was mean to you today.”

JC laughed, ruffling Jonathan’s hair. “It’s ok, little man. You thought I was moving in on your territory. It’s understandable.”

“Everything ok over here?” Just said, smiling down at his two favorite boys.

“Great,” JC said, smiling. “Jonathan was just saying how we were gonna ride the teacups now.”

Jonathan laughed wildy and shook his head. “No, Jay-Cee! They make me dizzy, you know it!”

JC tickled Jonathan as he threw him over his shoulder, and the boy squealed with glee. “Jay-Cee! Put me down!” he laughed, kicking his legs.

JC smiled at Justin as he set Jonathan down. “You ok?” Justin mouthed. JC nodded, resisting the sudden urge to pull Justin into a hug and kiss him senseless.

“Well?”

Justin looked down at Jonathan, who was grinning up at them. “Well what?”

“Aren’t you gonna kiss?”

Justin’s eyes widened, and JC watched as all the color drained from his face. “W-what? Who kiss?”

Jonathan rolled his eyes dramatically. “Jay-Cee, I though you said Jussy was smart.”

JC couldn’t help but laugh.

“Jon, what are you talking about?” Justin asked.

“Aren’t. You. Gonna. KISS!” Jonathan repeated. “You and Jay-Cee! You love him right?”

Justin looked at JC, terrified. “Um…Jon, I don’t what—“

“Jus, it’s ok,” JC said softly, patting Justin’s shoulder. “He knows.”

“He…KNOWS?” Justin swallowed hard. “My mom is gonna kill me.”

“Jussy, it’s ok. I won’t tell Mommy. I pwomise. Now kiss JC before he gets sad. "

Justin laughed nervously and looked to JC for help.

“What the little man wants…” JC said, taking a step toward his boyfriend. “The little man gets,” he whispered before kissing Justin softly. “I love you."

“Awww!” Jonathan squealed, jumping up and down. “Jussy and Jay-Cee are cute.”

“Hush, little man” JC teased, shaking a finger at Jonathan. “Remember, you can’t tell anyone that Justin and I love each other, ok? Or that we kiss. Promise?”

“I pwomise, Jay-Cee.”

“All right then. Who’s up for teacups?” JC yelled, picking Jonathan up by the waist and running off with the screaming boy in his arms.
